An Oregon hotel canceled a Turning Point USA event featuring the organization’s founder, Charlie Kirk, after receiving threats of violence from left-wing groups in the area, according to a report.
The Holiday Inn Express Eugene-Springfield informed TPUSA that it would not be able to host Kirk’s Critical Racism Tour at the hotel, noting the decision was made “out of an abundance of caution for the safety and security of our staff and guests.”
“After careful consideration, we have made the decision to not allow tonight’s event to proceed at our hotel,” Vice President of Operations Terry Goldman said in an email obtained by the Post Millennial.
“We apologize for the short notice, and are making this decision out of an abundance of caution for the safety and security of our staff and guests,” he continued. “The event has garnered a great deal of attention from multiple organizations and we unfortunately do not have the level of staffing available to ensure a secure event.”
This is the fifth venue that has canceled Kirk’s tour, according to TPUSA. Last month, a hotel near the University of Oregon—Graduate Hotel—canceled Kirk’s event after receiving “various communications indicating that the event will cause damage or disruption to the hotel’s premises, operation, guests, or reputation,” the hotel said.
This is just one of the leftist groups that have waged a pressure campaign to get Kirk’s events canceled:

“The irony is that as Charlie Kirk trends on Twitter for denouncing political violence, Antifa has been threatening violence against event staff at venues that attempt to host TPUSA’s campus tour stops,” TPUSA spokesman Andrew Kolvet said in a statement.
“So while Democrats attempt to criminalize mainstream conservative ideas and personalities who denounce violence, they empower actual violent extremist in their midst by failing to renounce groups like Antifa,” Kolvet continued.
