(Headline USA) Former President Barack Obama allegedly took millions of documents, many of which were classified, with him after leaving office and stored them in a previously abandoned Chicago-area warehouse, according to Conservative Treehouse.
Shortly after leaving office, Obama’s foundation signed a lease with Hoffman Estates, a facility in Chicago, to store the documents he brought with him from the White House. These documents are technically under the control of the National Archives and Record Administration, but it was the Obama Foundation that entered into the lease for the storage space.
A letter between NARA and the Obama Foundation proves that some of the records involved in the transfer were classified. It reads, “The Obama Foundation agrees to transfer up to three million three hundred thousand dollars ($3,300,000) to the National Archives Trust Fund (NATF) to support the move of classified and unclassified Obama Presidential records and artifacts.”
The report raises questions about the FBI’s handling of an investigation into whether former President Donald Trump improperly took classified documents to his Mar-a-Lago estate.
“The FBI never raided the old Sears warehouse to obtain the classified documents there. They left the multiple corrupt activities of the Obama regime alone,” wrote Gateway Pundit’s Joe Hoft.
Yet the FBI raided Trump’s home, Hoft wrote, and the Justice Department is now subjecting him to a lengthy investigation.
Top Republicans have demanded a probe into the DOJ’s investigation, alleging the department is obviously biased against the former president.
“The FBI raid was unprecedented for America, but familiar to those in Florida who fled nations where political opposition was criminalized,” said Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., currently the ranking minority member of the Senate Intelligence Committee.
“If voters put us back in the majority, we better have the guts to subpoena the records [and] make those who authorized this testify under oath.”
