(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) President Joe Biden’s latest pet German Shepherd, Commander, bit seven people during a four-month stretch at the White House, the New York Post reported.
Following his first misbehaving dog, Major, who was so poorly behaved that he was removed from the White House for biting Secret Service members on eight consecutive days, Commander may also be shipped out.
Commander’s attacks have reportedly been so aggressive that they have sent Secret Service members to the hospital. One incident the dog bit the arm and thigh of an agent, causing serious bleeding.
According to the report, Commander “came down the stairs and walked toward” the agents, continuing to bite a man’s triceps, then his thigh after he stood up.
This reportedly caused the man a “considerable amount of pain.” The men ultimately had to protect themselves from the dog with a steel cart.
Upon further reflection, another agent remarked that “if it wasn’t their dog he would already have been put down – freaking clown needs a muzzle.”
On another occasion, the dog attacked and bloodied a Secret Service member’s hand and arm when the president let him outside following a family movie night. Commander also bit the back of a security technician at Biden’s Delaware home.
Some have speculated that, between the attacks by Commander, and the attacks by his first dog, Major, the president is not very concerned about the safety of the Secret Service, which is largely composed of rural white conservatives, often from the south.
Unfortunately for Secret Service agents, Biden’s deep suspicion about the agents has led to his dismissal of their reports of the dog attacks.
“A bigger problem was Biden’s discomfort with his Secret Service detail; some of them were MAGA sympathizers. He didn’t trust them,” Chris Whipple wrote in his recent book, The Fight of His Life: Inside Joe Biden’s White House.
“Surrounded by a new phalanx of strangers, Biden couldn’t help but wonder, Do these people really want me here?”
