Musk Offered 100 Acres to Move Twitter to Texas

'I mean, this area is exploding and we want to be part of this explosive growth... '

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) Jim Schwertner, CEO of Schwertner Farms near Austin, Texas, offered Elon Musk 100 acres of land on which to build a new campus for Twitter if he moved it from California, the Post Millennial reported.

Schwertner made the initial offer in a tweet addressed to Musk:

“Elon Musk, Move Twitter to Schwertner, TX. 38 Miles North of Austin in Williamson County, and we will give you 100 Acres for FREE.”

The idea is perfectly plausible considering that Musk has already relocated Tesla and SpaceX to Texas. It would make sense perhaps to also move his latest acquisition.

Further, many Twitter employees already work remotely, and would therefore not have to make the move.

Scwertner doubled down on his offer in a later interview with a local TV station.

“We think it’s a good idea, especially when you’ve got Samsung coming to Taylor,” he said.

Schwertner also noted that he thought the move would also benefit Musk and his company.

“I mean, this area is exploding and we want to be part of this explosive growth,” he said, adding that the move would be “a win-win for everybody.”

“I just think with all the stuff he’s done, he evidently likes Texas, right or he wouldn’t have moved from California. And I want to be part of his plan if he’ll come visit with us.”

He concluded the interview by noting that he thought the move would benefit the entire community.

“We’ve always been entrepreneurs in our family and we’ve always tried to help the communities,” Schwertner continued. “And I think my offer is a serious gesture to help the citizens around Williamson County.”
