McCarthy Booting Top House Dems from Committees to Curb

'Eric Swalwell cannot get a security clearance in the public sector. Why would we ever give him a security clearance in the secrets to America? ... '

(Mark Pellin, Headline USA) Continuing a push that Rep. Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., has dubbed “promises made, promises kept,” the newly-minted speaker on Monday confirmed that he will be removing top Democrats from House committees.

McCarthy said he intends to boot Democrat Reps. Adam Schiff and Eric Swalwell from the Intelligence Committee and will block Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., from serving on the Foreign Affairs Committee.

“Eric Swalwell cannot get a security clearance in the public sector. Why would we ever give him a security clearance in the secrets to America? So, I will not allow him to be on Intel,” McCarthy told Fox News in November when he was making early moves as the favorite for House speaker after Republicans had gained a slim majority from the midterms. “You have Adam Schiff, who had lied to the American public time and again. We will not allow him to be on the Intel Committee either.”

Among myriad other transgressions, Schiff used his position on the J6 Inquisition to repeatedly lie about having evidence that proved the debunked Russia collusion fabrication.

“He should not be serving on Intel when he has openly, knowingly now used a fake dossier, lied to the American public in the process and doesn’t have any ill will [and] says he wants to continue to do it,” McCarthy said, according to Breitbart News.

McCarthy also ripped Schiff’s failures on Afghanistan during his Intel tenure.

“We’re going to reshape—think about what happened in Afghanistan,” he said of the committee’s goals. “Why did Afghanistan collapse so fast? Was the Intel Committee under Adam Schiff focused on impeachment and not on the safety of America?”

Swallwell was involved in a long-running hinky relationship with a Chinese spy named “Fang Fang,” resulting in her placing “at least one intern” on Swalwell’s congressional staff.

During her stint on the Foreign Affairs Committee, Omar came under intense criticism for her public embrace of anti-Semitism and had compared Israel to terrorists. On the policy front, Omar has aggressively backed the defund the police movement.

Omar played the race card when asked about being booted from the committee.

“I think it would be hypocritic [sic] for him to remove, you know, the first African-born on the subcommittee on Africa on the Foreign Affairs Committee, where I’ve had the opportunity to not only represent my constituents but the voice of so many people who have never had a voice on the Foreign Affairs Committee,” Omar groused to MSNBC.
