(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) A federal judge revealed that the politicized FBI raid of former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home included the swiping of decades of Trump’s personal medical and tax records, Fox News reported.
The new information has emerged after Aileen M. Cannon, U.S. district judge from the Southern District of Florida, ordered earlier this week that an independent special master be appointed to review Trump’s records for attorney–client and executive privilege.
Cannon also told the Justice Department to halt its own review of the documents in order for the courts to investigate.
“The Court also temporarily enjoins the Government from reviewing and using the seized materials for investigative purposes pending completion of the special master’s review or further Court order,” she wrote.
The report included notes as to the nature of the confiscated materials—among them, the former president’s passports and an additional 1,000 documents without “classified” designations, ranging from gift receipts to news articles.
“According to the Privilege Review Team’s Report, the seized materials include medical documents, correspondence related to taxes, and accounting information,” Cannon wrote.
A source close to Trump told Fox News that the confiscated documents included 40 years of information.
Democrats in Congress have been itching to get a look at Donald Trump’s tax documents since 2019, so the fact that they were taken certainly seems suspicious.
According to the same source, Trump may seek emergency intervention from the Supreme Court, blocking the release of his tax and medical records.
The former President railed against the partisan bureaucracy in a recent Truth Social post.
“Remember, it takes courage and ‘guts’ to fight a totally corrupt Department of ‘Justice’ and the FBI,” Trump said.
“They are being pushed to do the wrong things by many sinister and evil outside sources,” he continued. “Until impartiality, wisdom, fairness, and courage are shown by them, our Country can never come back or recover–it will be reduced to being a Third World Nation!”
