‘Lied Bold-Face’: Johnson Rips Blinken Over Plots to Protect Hunter

'[Blinken] lied bold-face to Congress about never emailing Hunter Biden...'

(Luis CornelioHeadline USA) Senator Ron Johnson, R-Wis., joined Fox Business’ Sunday Morning Futures to talk about the latest developments in the congressional investigation into President Joe Biden’s foreign business dealings and whether Secretary of State Antony Blinken lied under oath when he downplayed his contact with Hunter Biden, the president’s son.

“Antony Blinken finally did come in and sit down for a voluntary transcribed interview in December of 2020 because he wanted to be Secretary of State,” Johnson told Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo. “And now, because of more information that’s come out, we know that he lied bold-face to Congress about never emailing Hunter Biden. My guess is he told a bunch of other lies that hopefully we’ll be able to bring him and his wife back in, tell him to preserve their records. ‘You cannot trust Joe Biden. You cannot trust Hunter Biden. You can’t trust the Biden family. You can’t trust so many of the people that they have surrounded themselves with.’”

Johnson’s comments referred to emails first uncovered by Fox News that show that Blinken held a meeting with Hunter at the State Department in July 2015. At the time, Blinken, who was then serving as Deputy Secretary of State, emailed Hunter frequently.

“What do you do when you have an effect co-conspirator of the Biden family inside the agencies, inside our intelligence agencies, the Department of Justice, the FBI,” Johnson continued in the scathing statements. “And you have the political party, the Democrats, who couldn’t care less, have no interest in the corruption that is being uncovered bit by bit as we pull back the layers of the onion here.”

Host Bartiromo asked the GOP senator whether Blinken lied under, to which the senator answered affirmatively.

“Yes, he did—he said he did not email Hunter and now we have those emails,” Johnson concluded. “We also know his wife using her private email address when she was an employee at the State Department was basically as conduit between her husband and Hunter Biden as well. So, again, I think there’s so much more to uncover here. There’s so much more investigation. He needs to be subpoenaed.”

Earlier this week, Blinken came under fire after former CIA Deputy Director Michael Morell testified to the House Judiciary and Intelligence Committees that Blinken, then a Biden campaign “played a role in the inception” of the infamous intel letter that sought to label Hunter’s laptop scandal as Russian disinformation.

Several GOP lawmakers called on Blinken to resign over his role in the scheme to dismiss the laptop scandal.

Johnson demanded Blinken be subpoenaed and for all email records to be maintained.

“He needs to be subpoenaed,” he said. “I don’t have subpoena power. He got to come in just voluntarily. If he wants to proclaim his innocence, I doubt he’ll do that, but he must and she must preserve their records, their personal emails.”
