(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) As she plans what her boosters in the media hope will prove a stunning and brave expedition, historically despised Vice President Kamala Harris will soon continue her search for the causes of immigration, the New York Post reported.
The VP has decided to pack up and head to the tropics in search of the mythical “root causes” of illegal immigration, though she could save considerable time, effort, and taxpayer money by checking around the White House first.
She will begin her trip in Honduras, where she will attend the inauguration of Honduran President-elect Xiomara Castro.
The two women apparently spoke on the phone recently, gossiping about “the partnership between the United States and Honduras and work together to advance economic growth, combat corruption, and address the root causes of migration.”
Despite her constant searching, the intrepid VP has had little success in finding any root causes. In fact, she doesn’t even seem to know how to begin.
“You haven’t been to the border,” an NBC interviewer pointed out to her last year.
Harris could merely muster the response: “And I haven’t been to Europe. And I mean, I don’t understand the point that you’re making.”
She also failed to check with another potential “root cause,” the President of Guatemala, Alejandro Giammattei.
“We had many conversations with your ambassador, but [between] my presidency and the White House, no,” Giammattei said.
“I spoke once to Joe Biden because I introduced myself… On matters of state and migration, we had Mr. Alejandro Mayorkas. Aside from that direct communication, no, we have not had it.”
There are also some in the United States that would be willing to help the confused VP complete her scavenger hunt.
Rep. Henry Cuellar, D-Texas, who represents a border district, attempted to offer Harris help with the border crisis.
“I say this very respectfully to her: I moved on,” Cuellar told the New York Times. “She was tasked with that job, it doesn’t look like she’s very interested in this, so we are going to move on to other folks that work on this issue.”
