Kamala Pushes $5B Electric School Bus Scheme as Midterm Distraction

'Many of us went to school on the yellow school bus, right? ... '

(Mark Pellin, Headline USA) A Biden regime desperate to keep the country’s focus off rampant inflation, a deadly open borders crisis and skyrocketing crime as the midterm elections loom tasked Vice President Kamala Harris with unveiling the administration’s newest green gimmick.

Set up to fail once again by the white man in the White House, the Veep was designated chief cheerleader for the administration’s plan to electrify the nation’s school bus fleet, as the U.S. Department of Education this week reported historic learning losses for grade school students.

The “National Report Card” showed average reading scores for nine-year-olds nosedive five points and average mathematics scores plunge seven points.

“This is the largest average score decline in reading since 1990, and the first ever score decline in mathematics,” the report informed.

“At fourth grade, the average reading score was lower than all previous assessment years going back to 2005 and was not significantly different in comparison to 1992.”

The administration’s plan to have school buses go green calls for purchasing 2,463 new buses, with 95% being electric, as the first wave of spending $1 billion that will eventually top $5 billion.

“School buses safely transport more than 25 million children every day across America,” the White House said.

“However, diesel exhaust from buses produces particulate matter and other pollutants that can cause lung damage and aggravate asthma and other health problems in children. In addition, diesel exhaust exposure has been linked to increased school absences.”

Kamala declared she was ready to save the fabled yellow school buses from harming kids.

“Who doesn’t love a yellow school bus, right? Can you raise your hand if you love a yellow school bus?” Harris cackled during a press conference Wednesday at Lumen Field in Seattle.

“Many of us went to school on the yellow school bus, right? It’s part of our experience growing up,” Harris babbled.

“It’s part of a nostalgia, a memory of the excitement and joy of going to school to be with your favorite teacher, to be with your best friends and to learn. The school bus takes us there,” she said.

Harris apparently has recovered from being “that little girl” who a racist Joe Biden and his segregationist cronies tried kicking to the curb with their own busing schemes.

Harris’ gleeful reminiscing about school buses, as student achievement scores plummet, was roundly ridiculed.

“Democrats have been hiding Kamala, but she just had a press conference and talked about yellow school buses and my goodness they really can’t let her talk in public about anything,” wrote Outkick’s Clay Travis.

“Please sing Wheels on the Bus, please sing Wheels on the Bus,” quipped CNN contributor Mary Katharine Ham.
