John Brennan Says He’s ‘Increasingly Embarrassed’ to Be a ‘White Male’

'It is a disgusting display of craven politics that really should have no place in the United States...'

Disgraced former CIA Director John Brennan said he is “increasingly embarrassed to be a white male” when talking about former President Donald Trump’s supporters.

Brennan made the comment during an MSNBC interview on Monday, during which the panelists questioned whether Republicans were intentionally downplaying the Jan. 6 Capitol siege.

Former Democrat Sen. Claire McCaskill, who was also on the panel, said there were a lot of “whiny white men calling themselves victims” when they talked about the Capitol riot, which she said is a “huge grievance from a position of significant privilege.”

Brennan added: “Well, I must say, to Claire’s point, I’m increasingly embarrassed to be a white male these days with what I see other white males saying.”

The former intelligence official then asserted that Republicans have lied about the Capitol insurgency because “there are so few Republicans in Congress who value truth, honesty, and integrity.”

“And so, they’ll continue to gaslight the country the way Donald Trump did,” Brennan added. “And the fact this has such security and safety implications for the American public and for the members of Congress, again, as Claire said, it is a disgusting display of craven politics that really should have no place in the United States in 2021.”

Brennan recently came under fire for praising the Biden administration for purging itself of conservatives, and suggested all conservative government employees are “insurgents” that pose a threat to national security.

“The members of the Biden team who have been nominated or have been appointed are now moving in laser-light fashion to try to uncover as much as they can about what looks very similar to insurgency movements we’ve seen overseas,” he said last week.
