As Hunter Biden Probe Nears ‘Final Stages,’ DOJ May Ignore Corrupt Business Deals

'The things that the U.S. Attorney's office is thinking about charging him with, those are the least of his problems...'

(Tony Sifert, Headline USA) The federal investigation of President Joe Biden’s son Hunter is nearing its end, according a report from CNN.

Anonymous Justice Department officials told CNN that U.S. Attorney David Weiss’s probe into the Biden family’s corruption may soon result in the president’s son facing “tax and gun-related charges,” but will likely pass over his notorious business deals in Ukraine and China.

“The Justice Department investigation initially focused on Hunter Biden’s financial and business activities in foreign countries dating to when Joe Biden was vice president,” CNN reported. “As the investigation has entered its final stages, prosecutors have narrowed their focus to tax and gun-related charges.”

Such a charging decision likely would avert fears that the president himself may be implicated in criminal activity. Emails from Hunter’s abandoned laptop revealed that Joe Biden, aka the “Big Guy,” received a 10% cut in at least one of the business ventures involving a Chinese energy company with ties to the country’s communist government.

Nonetheless, CNN’s sources suggested that Attorney General Merrick Garland was concerned about the political consequences of trying a Biden “close to an election.”

“Current and former Justice Department officials say there is an unwritten rule that prosecutors avoid bringing politically sensitive cases within 60 days of an election,” CNN reported, before pointing out that Joe Biden himself will not be on the ballot in November.

In an appearance on Newsmax TV, Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., suggested that Garland’s politicized DOJ is likely to let Hunter off with a slap on the wrist.

“We saw what happened to a Trump advisor, Paul Manafort … who will probably spend the rest of his life in prison for not having the right paperwork and not paying taxes,” Paul told host Shaun Kraismen.

“Sounds like Hunter Biden has been accused of that and much more,” he continued. “People are going to have to make a judgment: Was Hunter Biden treated the same as Paul Manafort?”

Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., agreed.

“[Hunter Biden] has made a career of selling access to the government at the highest level, through his last name,” Comer told Fox Business host Stuart Varney. “The things that the U.S. Attorney’s office is thinking about charging him with, those are the least of his problems.”

Hunter’s trial notwithstanding, Republicans are widely projected to sweep the 2022 midterm elections on account of his father’s failed leadership and to regain control of Congress in a red wave.

Already, Joe Biden is reported to have lawyered up in anticipation of the likely congressional investigations and hearings, which will be the first formal opportunity for a public examination of Hunter’s damning laptop since it was leaked in October 2020.

In addition to the Biden family’s corrupt business deals, the contents of the laptop—which even major left-wing media outlets now acknowledge as verified—include shocking details of a depraved and dysfunctional family whose patriarch appeared to be complicit in an array of sins and crimes. Among them: possible incest, pedophilia, the frequent solicitation of Russian prostitutes and rampant drug abuse.
