(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) In order to keep up with the latest left-wing fashions, Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs appears to be plotting an indictment of former President Donald Trump and his GOP electors, Fox 10 Phoenix reported.
The witch hunt investigation is being led by Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes, who is reportedly working closely with Hobbs in order to hinder Trump’s 2024 campaign.
Additionally, both Democrat officials have a vested interest in suppressing the previously legal process for challenging and questioning elections, given the dubious circumstances of their own razor-thin victories in the 2022 election amid rampant irregulatities in Maricopa County and elsewhere.
“We are investigating the fake electors,” Mayes said, referring to the alternate slate of electors that Republicans appointed for the Electoral College in the event that pending legal challenges wound up reversing the outcome.
“We are doing a thorough and professional investigation,” Mayes claimed. “We will do it on our timetable, as justice demands.”
When asked if she supports the investigation, Hobbs spoke enthusiastically in favor of it.
“Absolutely. I have been an advocate for holding folks involved in trying to overturn the will of the voters in the 2020 election accountable, and this is part of that,” Hobbs said.
The governor cited “accountability,” which she finds to be “critical.”
Yet, her rhetoric marked a dramatic reversal from her unrelenting efforts, while secretary of state, to undermine and resist the Arizona Senate’s efforts to conduct a forensic audit of the election.
Hobbs also noted vaguely that she wanted to “change directions,” but lamented that that won’t happen “until there’s accountability at the top level,” suggesting that the successful prosecution of Trump was the only way to heal the nation’s wound’s and restore bipartisanship.
“I think it should move forward and play out in the legal process,” she added.
On the other hand, former Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey—the Republican leader who joined Hobbs in certifying the dubious 2020 outcome in late November of that year—found the constant lawfare attacks to be politically irresponsible.
“I am concerned about continuing indictments,” Ducey said.
“I think we’re on number four,” he continued. “I’m concerned about how this is going to affect the electorate, the respect for the rule of law, and equal justice.”
Another former Arizona governor, Republican Jan Brewer, confirmed that she expected the attorney general to “move forward” with some kind of “disciplinary action” in the near future while appearing to withhold her opinions on it.
Hobbs has a long history of attempting to silence Trump-supporting voters and weaponize the law to her own advantage.
Her recent scheming comes on the heels of a revelation that she, like members of the Biden adminstration, had colluded with social-media sites like Twitter and Facebook to take down conservative posts that were critical of her blatant partisanship in the leadup and aftermath of the 2020 election.
