SMOKING GUN?: Video Suggests Fauci Perjured Himself in Denying Gain-of-Function Support

'He’s been outed. Dr Fauci has no credibility. He’s imploded. And he has made the situation worse...'

The efforts by coronavirus czar Anthony Fauci on Tuesday to intentionally obfuscate the truth about his agency’s support of controversial gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology were quickly exposed by a 2018 video in which he expressed his full-throated support of the banned methodology.

The Gateway Pundit, via Telegram user Kanekoa the Great posted the damning footage of a January 2018 advisory council meeting of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, which Fauci heads.

In it, Fauci announced the roll-back of an Obama-imposed moratorium on NIAID’s support for gain-of-function research. The practice takes naturally-occurring viruses, such as coronaviruses, from animals in nature and mutates them into more deadly and contagious laboratory strains capable of infecting humans.

The research is useful in scientists’ preemptive pursuit of vaccines for diseases that have not yet appeared in nature, theoretically preventing future pandemics.

But the potential for a lab leak also risks needlessly creating a pandemic, as many believe happened in Wuhan with COVID-19.

Gain-of-function research also has been banned by countries, including the US, because of the potential for misusing it to create biological weapons that could target individuals based on their unique genetic qualities, making it a valuable tool for mass-genocidal maniacs.

China, however, is believed to have pursued it at the Wuhan lab for unknown reasons.

The timing of NIAID’s decision, in coordination with the National Institutes of Health, to “lift” its “funding pause” on gain-of-function research at the halfway point of then-President Donald Trump’s first term would certainly raise questions about the political motivations behind unleashing an accidental pandemic.

Although Fauci and his agency may have maintained enough plausible deniability to claim they didn’t know what China was up to, the resumption of funding to the lab could be seen as a sign of tacit support for Wuhan’s dangerous experimentation, undermining Trump’s hard-line diplomatic approach with China.

According to his own emails, Fauci also may have planned to meet with a globalist cabal, the Trilateral Commission, to discuss a global “reset” in the very same week that Trump declared a national pandemic emergency in March 2020.

Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., pledged during a heated Senate exchange with Fauci on Tuesday to hold the NIAID director and other scientific bureaucrats who supported China’s gain-of-function research accountable for their recklessness, saying the deaths of some 4 million coronavirus victims worldwide were on their shoulders.

Fauci, however, denied that NIAID-funded research was considered “gain of function,” despite being confronted with his agency’s own definition of it.

“If anybody is lying here, senator, it is you,” he said in a moment of aggressive posturing as he menacingly pointed at Paul, who is a medical doctor by trade.

At least one well-known intelligence expert, former acting Director of National Intelligence Ric Grenell, observed that Fauci’s body language appeared to give telling indications that his emotions were interfering with his factual, dispassionate relaying of scientific information before the panel of elected leaders.

Paul noted during the interrogation that Fauci appeared to be “dancing” around the issue over whether he had supported gain-of-function research, instead nitpicking the fact that specific viruses NIAID was on record as having funded the research of were not directly linked to COVID-19.

Paul announced Tuesday night that he planned to refer Fauci for criminal charges to the Department of Justice. However, it is unlikely that the corrupt DOJ, under the watch of Attorney General Merrick Garland, will seriously pursue the charges against the leftist media darling and longtime member of the Swamp’s scientific bureaucracy.
