Elon Musk Says Twitter Will Pay Legal Fees for Victims of Cancel Culture

'And we won’t just sue. It will be extremely loud and we will go after the boards of directors of the companies too... '

(Headline USA) Elon Musk announced last week that Twitter will pay the legal fees for those who were unfairly treated by their employers for liking or posting content on the platform, which recently rebranded itself as X.

“If you were unfairly treated by your employer due to posting or liking something on this platform, we will fund your legal bill. No limit. Please let us know,” Musk said on Saturday.

The billionaire hinted that this was just the first step he plans to take to fight cancel culture.

“And we won’t just sue,” he said, “it will be extremely loud and we will go after the boards of directors of the companies too.”

Musk’s announcement came just one day after NASCAR driver Noah Gragson was indefinitely suspended for liking a meme about George Floyd on social media. Gragson allegedly liked an insensitive meme on Instagram that portrayed Floyd as “Sebastian the Crab” from The Little Mermaid, along with the words, “Under Da Knee.”

The driver apologized on Twitter, writing, “I am disappointed in myself for my lack of attention and actions on social media. I understand the severity of this situation. I love and appreciate everyone. I try to treat everyone equally no matter who they are. I messed up plain and simple.”

Plenty of other potential cases have been brought to Musk’s attention as well. One example is the cancelation of writer David Volodzko, who was fired from the Seattle Times last month after he posted an article on Twitter and claimed that Adolf Hitler was “less evil” than Vladimir Lenin.

“This does sound like a good case,” Musk tweeted after users brought up Volodzko.

Musk also took interest in the firing of Kara Lynne by Limited Run Games back in January. Lynne was fired by the gaming company after being accused of “transphobia” on Twitter.

Former Disney actress Gina Carano also presented her case. Carano was axed by Disney after the actress posted a number of conservative views on Twitter.
