(Mark Pellin, Headline USA) In a telling example of deluded schadenfreude, Democrats are being mocked and criticized for their hypocritical glee in denouncing Rep.-elect George Santos, R-N.Y., for embellishing his resume, after years of lauding leftist leaders for their own lies.
Santos on Monday admitted that large parts of his educational and professional resumes were fabricated, conceding that he didn’t graduate from any college or university and had never worked directly for Citigroup and Goldman Sachs, reported the New York Post.
Santos had also falsely claimed that his grandparents “survived the Holocaust” as Ukrainian Jewish refugees from Belgium who changed their surname.
“I never claimed to be Jewish,” Santos told the Post. “I am Catholic. Because I learned my maternal family had a Jewish background I said I was ‘Jew-ish.’”
Democrats pounced in a frenzied flurry of condemnations, accusing Santos of reprehensible transgressions and demanding his resignation.
“George Santos should resign as Congressman-elect. If he refuses, Congress should expel him,” pronounced Rep. Joaquin Castro, D-Texas. “He should also be investigated by authorities.”
Republicans, while condemning the lies and obfuscations from Santos but not abandoning him to the wilderness, lambasted Democrat leftists for their long and sordid history of pathological and recidivist lying.
“Will Democrats call for Biden’s resignation for his lies over the past few decades?” asked Rep. Andy Biggs, R-Arizona. “Anyone remember Biden’s outrageous claims saying he fought a gangster named ‘Corn Pop,’ was ‘raised in the Puerto Rican community at home,’ and that he was arrested in South Africa? C’mon man,”
George Santos lied about his resume, and the left is demanding he resign.
Ilhan Omar says she didn’t marry her brother, she lied.
Elizabeth Warren said she was Native American Indian, she lied.

“Dr Rachel Levine says he’s a woman, he lied. Adam Schiff said he had proof of Trump Russian collusion, he lied,” Greene continued. “Eric Swalwell said he didn’t have sex with a CCP spy, he lied. Fauci said the taxpayer funded Covid-19 virus didn’t come from the Wuhan lab, he lied.”
The left doesn’t care about lying.
The real reason they’re attacking George Santos is that he the first openly gay Republican elected and they hate him for it.

What-aboutism and highlighting the hypocrisy of leftists only takes a candidate so far, and Tulsi Gabbard took Santos to task for the repeated lies to his constituents.
“These are blatant lies. My question is, do you have no shame?” Tulsi pressed in her role guest-hosting Fox News Tucker Carlson Tonight on Tuesday.
“I’m going to reassure this, once and for all,” Santos vowed. “I’m not a facade, I’m not a persona. I have an extensive career that I worked real hard to achieve. And I’m going to deliver from my experience, because I remain committed in delivering results for the American people.”
Gabbard appeared to remain skeptical, arguing that the results people are looking for are called into question “when you tell blatant lies, not embellishments.”
“You don’t seem to be taking this seriously,” Gabbard said.
