Company Refuses to Print Lara Trump’s Name on Times Square Billboard

'Honestly, life is hard enough, let’s bring some joy and let’s have some fun...'

(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) Times Square billboard management company, TSX Entertainment, censored a new single released by Lara Trump—the daughter-in-law of former President Donald Trump.

Lara recently released a cover of Tom Petty’s “I Wont’ Back Down.” But the ad promoting it showed only the cover art and refused to include her name and the song title.

The entertainment group originally said they could put “Lara” but not the last name “Trump,” citing it as an “issue,” according to Breitbart.

Lara, the wife of Eric Trump, called out the company for their fear of controversy.

“[Producer LJ Fino] called me and told me this, and I was like, ‘Hell no, I’m not OK with just Lara,” she said.

“My name is Lara Trump and I’m proud of that,’” she continued. “The billboard just went live with just the picture, not even the title of the song.”

TSX Entertainment has a history of using their billboards to advocate for controversial left-wing causes, such as Black Lives Matter, Planned Parenthood and teachers unions.

The billboard ran Friday and Saturday; officials at the company did not bother to correct it.

“I just find the whole thing not only insulting, but discriminatory in its nature,” Lara Trump said.

“I think that it’s pretty clear that the bias TSX Entertainment has is against anyone who considers themselves conservative, based on their track record,” she added. “They were happy to have these other billboards advertised up there which are overtly political, but yeah, my cover of a song that is a classic, that people know and love, somehow became problematic for them, simply because of my last name.”

Amazon also measured the song by unusual metrics, reporting sales by Universal Product Code rather than its International Standard Recording Code, thus taking away the song’s Billboard charting eligibility.

Apple Music suppressed the visibility of the song on the day of its release.

“Honestly, life is hard enough, let’s bring some joy and let’s have some fun,” Lara Trump said. “I got to play piano and sing a song, which I never thought I was going to do, and I’m really proud of it, and it’s really a shame that everybody has to turn everything political, because it shouldn’t be that way.”
