(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) President Joe Biden claimed despite being at his vacation home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, he was not on vacation this last weekend.
Biden said the Secret Service was in the process of upgrading the security at his other home in Wilmington to “make it secure,” according to the Daily Wire.
“The reason I’m here today, just for one day—I know people [say] I’m on vacation, I’m not,” Biden said to reporters.
“I have no home to go to,” he continued. “Secret Service has torn my house up in a good way to make it secure. So I have no place to go when I come to Delaware except here right now. I’m only here for one day.”
When a reporter followed up asking if he was homeless, Biden said “I’m not homeless, I just have one home.”
Biden previously stated that the Secret Service worked to install bullet-proof windows in his Wilmington home—a project that apparently started in April.
However, blurring of the lines in using the houses to receive political guests—and his mix of vacation time with fundraising—has raised questions about his ethics after declaring his would be an administration of extraordinary transparency.
Oddly, while the Secret Service has closed off Biden’s home for his personal use, his campaign recently declared that it was to be his campaign headquarters for the upcoming presidential election, raising even more questions about when Biden intended to launch his campaign in earnest.
Biden’s home in Wilmington also has doubled as a crime scene, having been the location where the then senator and vice president stored secret caches of classified documents illegally in his garage and study.
And it was the site where his son Hunter made at least one phone call to Chinese business partners threatening to extort them if he did not receive the money from a transaction—ostensibly by involving his father in foreign policy entanglements.
It is unclear to what extent special counsel David Weiss, who is investigating the Biden’s corrupt business deals, has access to the site during its construction.
Biden departed from Delaware early Monday morning and arrived in Philadelphia for a Labor Day speech to the Sheet Metal Workers union, where he discussed the importance of unions and the validity of “Bidenomics.”
“[The Biden administration is] replacing trickle-down economics with what everyone on Wall Street is referring to these days as Bidenomics, and guess what? It’s working,” he said. ‘It’s about building the economy from the middle out and the bottom up not the top down.”
While Biden only spent a single day at his vacation home this weekend, he took an unusually large amount of personal trips through his administration.
Since taking office, Biden spent 40% of his presidency on personal vacations, adding up to 382 of the 957 days he’s occupied the White House.
“We have millions of illegal immigrants pouring across our borders. Violent crime is surging. Inflation is crushing hard-working Americans. Our enemies around the world are emboldened,” Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-NY, said. “Meanwhile, Joe Biden is filmed on the beach with his handlers preventing him from speaking to the media to answer basic questions Americans deserve answers to.”
