(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., the chairman of the House Oversight Committee, raised alarming questions Monday as he pressed the DOJ regarding a batch of classified documents found in President Joe Biden’s office and home in Delaware.
Comer’s inquiry centered around whether any of the sensitive documents were linked to the contentious business dealings of the president’s son, Hunter Biden.

“Evidence suggests President Biden may have used certain members of his family—particularly his son, Hunter Biden—to accumulate millions of dollars from foreign individuals and entities for the benefit of his family and himself,” Comer underscored in a letter addressed to Special Counsel Robert Hur, who is leading the investigation into the classified documents.
With the Oversight Committee spearheading an impeachment inquiry into alleged corruption within the Biden family, Comer emphasized the necessity of gaining access to any documents that might shed light on potential compromises to national security.

“If any of the classified documents mishandled by President Biden involved countries or individuals that had financial dealings with Biden family members or their related companies, the Committee needs access to that information to evaluate whether our national security has been compromised,” Comer asserted in the letter.
The classified documents were first uncovered in January 2023. According to CNN, federal investigators stumbled upon classified documents, some marked “top secret,” within the president’s office at the Penn Biden Center in Washington, D.C. The documents reportedly contained information about Ukraine, Iran and the United Kingdom.
The Oversight Committee’s investigation has exposed the Biden family’s alleged business entanglements in several countries, including China, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and Romania.
Comer and other IRS whistleblowers have also alleged that these enterprises were established under dubious circumstances, with purported “shell companies” allegedly used to funnel money away from the IRS.
President Biden has consistently denied any involvement in his son’s business affairs. However, whistleblower testimonies, incriminating text messages and phone calls, and other compelling evidence explicitly contradicted the president’s assertions, contributing to the ongoing impeachment inquiry
“The Committee seeks to further understand why President Biden retained certain classified documents, if such information related to any of his family’s foreign business interactions, and why so many White House officials were involved in obtaining these materials,” the letter concluded.
