(Mark Pellin, Headline USA) In an all-time classic Friday news dump, only with a full-blown war instead of a mere weekend to deflect attention elsewhere, the Biden administration is set to announce that it’s time to start de-masking the American populace.
There’s a reason the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is making the announcement as bombs fly in Ukraine, despite their protestations that it’s all about the science. Because the science hasn’t budged since last Friday, or any of the Fridays weeks and months ago.
The sudden swerve will mean a dramatic easing of federal masking guidelines, with most Americans no longer being advised to wear mask indoors and being chastised, ostracized and in some cases punished for daring to do so.
The easing of the mask monarchy is a public admission that the Biden administration has been caught gaslighting the public on a massive scale, and has lost any pretense to enforce compliance to what has become a mandate folly that’s pure mystery science theater.
In that light, the unfolding Ukrainian crisis provides a convenient rock for the masked-obsessed Fauci fashionistas to crawl under for cover.
The CDC will change the metrics it uses to determine whether to recommend face coverings, shifting from looking at COVID-19 case counts to a more holistic view of risk, reported the Associated Press.
Holistic in this case translating for the Biden Administration as have you seen our poll numbers lately, and look at that convoy of crazy, pro-freedom truckers starting to roll toward D.C. with public sentiment amassing behind it.
Meanwhile, Biden’s approval rating earlier this month sunk to below 40 percent. Likewise, a recent survey showed only 45 percent of registered voters approved of how Biden was handling COVID, with only 16 percent saying they trusted COVID information coming from the White House and only 31 percent trusting COVID Czar Anthony Fauci, according to The Hill.
Perhaps even more worrisome to Biden was a Monmouth University poll showing 70 percent of the country wants to “accept Covid is here to stay and we just need to get on with life,” reported National Review.
The new policy comes as the Biden administration moves to shift its focus to preventing serious illness and death from COVID-19, rather than all instances of infection, according to the AP.
And it’s surely just a coincidence that Biden can slip it into his State of the Union address after people have had a week to forget about how badly he’s misled them for the past year.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s two-month Emergencies Act only lasted a few days; Fauci’s 14 days to flatten the curve and stop the spread has lasted years.
The timelines are drastically different, but at the end of both, petty autocrats have been forced to publicly cede some of their power and been exposed for exactly what they’ve always been.
