Amy Klobuchar Suggests Electing Democrats Will Stop Hurricanes

'Gross and shameless... '

(Headline USA) Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., suggested this week that electing Democrats could help thwart future hurricanes.

During an interview with MSNBC on Tuesday, Klobuchar mentioned incoming Hurricane Ian, which is set to hit Florida. She claimed that Democrats have helped Floridians manage the effects of hurricanes by passing climate change legislation, and urged voters to continue voting for Democrats if they wanted to prevent hurricanes from forming.

“We just did something about climate change for the first time in decades,” she said, referring to President Joe Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act, which passed Congress this summer.

“That’s why we’ve got to win this as that hurricane bears down on Florida,” the senator added. “We’ve got to win in the midterms. We understand that.”

Conservatives slammed Klobuchar for politicizing a natural disaster.

“The new science: so the hurricane is punishing Floridians for voting Republican, not because it’s a seasonal event and has been since before this grift,” former NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch said.

Christina Pushaw, the spokesperson for Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis’s reelection campaign, also slammed Klobuchar as “gross and shameless.”
