After Creating Border Crisis, Biden Admin to ‘Repair,’ Clean Parts of Border Wall

'[T]he Biden administration has failed to do its job as required by law as passed by Congress to enforce the immigration laws of the United States of America... '

The Biden administration announced this week that it will complete some of the gaps left in former President Donald Trump’s border wall and clean up the areas where construction on the wall was halted.

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said that he had granted U.S. Customs and Border Protection permission to move forward with repairs on the wall in three different states: in San Diego and El Centro in California; Yuma and Tucson in Arizona, and El Paso and Del Rio in Texas.

The repair projects will address “urgent life, safety, environmental, or other remediation required to protect border communities,” he said.

However, the Biden administration has already made it clear that it has no interest in actually securing the border. Hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants have entered the country since Biden took office, leading to one of the worst border crises the country has ever seen.

Moreover, as one of his first acts as president, Biden halted construction of Trump’s border wall, despite immigration officials’ requests to continue the project.

Biden’s failure to take the immigration crisis seriously led Texas Gov. Greg Abbott to build his own border wall. Construction of the structure began last week in Rio Grande City.

“Texas is taking what truly is unprecedented action by any state ever for a state to build a wall on our border to secure the sovereignty of the United States as well as our own state,” Abbott said in a statement.

“And this unprecedented action is needed for one single reason,” he said, “and that’s because the Biden administration has failed to do its job as required by law as passed by Congress to enforce the immigration laws of the United States of America.”

It is possible the Biden administration’s repairs are intended to make it difficult for Texas to complete its border wall project, especially if the administration undoes the terraforming work that Trump put into the wall.
