House Oversight Committee Sets Date for UFO Hearing: ‘Done with the Cover-Ups’

'If we had found a UFO, I think the Department of Defense would tell us because they’d probably want to request more money...'

(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) Members of the House Oversight Committee announced a plan to host a hearing on unidentified anomalous phenomena in the next week, according to the Daily Wire.

“We’re done with the cover-ups,” tweeted Rep. Tim Burchett, R-Tenn., who has consistently pushed the conversation about UFOs and alien technology within the ranks of Congress.

The hearing is on Wednesday, July 26, but was not yet listed on the committee’s official calendar.

At press time, the committee had not released information regarding the content of the meeting or witnesses who may give testimony.

“We’re going to have professionals in here, and we’re getting blowback from some of the alphabet agencies,” Burchett said. “I’m sick of government … that does not trust the people.”

In a recent report, whistleblower David Grusch, a U.S. military veteran specializing in airborne phenomena, claimed that the military illegally kept the information from Congress concerning its tracking of UFOs—which may or may not be extraterrestrial in origin.

“We are not talking about prosaic origins or identities,” Grusch told the outlet, suggesting some of the recovered objects and fragments appeared to be exotic and unidentifiable. “The material includes intact and partially intact vehicles.”

In response to the claims of illegality, the Defense Department’s All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office—which is tasked with investigating UFOs and other phenomena—declared it had “not discovered any verifiable information to substantiate claims that any programs regarding the possession or reverse-engineering of any extra terrestrial materials have existed in the past or exist currently.”

However, Sean Kirkpatrick said the AARO was reviewing an estimated 800 cases—a jump from the 650 he mentioned in a separate hearing just a month earlier.

Despite the staggering number, he insisted that none of them offered “credible” evidence of aliens from outer space.

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., announced his support of the hearing on Monday.

He also expressed some skepticism that the government obtained evidence of alien life and kept it a secret, because “the Department of Defense would tell us because they would probably want to request more money.”

While many of the claims spurred skepticism from the general public, Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., encouraged an even and measured approach to the alleged evidence.

“What I think we owe them is just a mature, you know, understanding, listening and trying to put all these pieces together and just sort of intake the information without any prejudgment or jumping to any conclusions in one direction or another,” Rubio said.
