Ex-Playboy Reporter Roasted for Phony-Sounding Tweet about MAGA Christians

'This certainly sounds like a thing that happened...'

(Ezekiel Loseke, Headline USA) Although his former publication is now defunctPlayboy‘s one-time White House correspondent, Brian Karem, drew ridicule on Twitter for pushing more fake news, claiming Christians were unable to come up with any accomplishments with which to credit former President Donald Trump.

Karem, who was notorious for his disruptive behaviour during the Trump administration, wrote a dubious tweet about an alleged conversation with an anti-Trump activist he randomly met at a bar, who also happened to be a “devout Christian.”

The woman clamed that in all her encounters with Christians, none had ever been able to name one thing the former president had done “that Jesus would approve of.”

According to Twitchy, Christians and conservatives on Twitter were more than happy to accept the challenge.

That included his strong advocacy for Israel, as well as his support for religious liberty at home.

One Twitter user mentioned Trump’s open embrace of Christianity and promotion of peace.

“I don’t know, [Trump] avoided going to war about 5 times. Publicly professed his faith and trust in the Bible in front of millions of people,” the user said. “He’s certainly a flawed man, as am I. Whoever is perfect in their ways be the first to condemn him. I’m listening.”

One honest Twitter user admitted that even though she supported abortion, Jesus would be pleased by Trump’s role in ending Roe v. Wade.

Other Twitter users simply pointed out that the story sounded made up.

Twitchy agreed. “This certainly sounds like a thing that happened,” the news site sarcastically wrote.

It went on to highlight a litany of fake-sounding, anonymous encounters emanating from Karem’s Twitter account.

In 2017, for example, he claimed to have encountered a young Hispanic boy on Washington, D.C.’s public transportation system and immediately bonded over their shared affliction with Trump Derangement Syndrome.

The boy “[s]aw my press credentials and asked me ‘why does the President hate me?'” Karem tweeted, tagging Trump’s own Twitter account.

Karem did not immediately reply to a Headline USA email seeking comment.
