Disney’s Top DEI Officer Leaves Company as Downward Spiral Continues

'We don’t want to just assume because someone might be in, our interpretation, may be presenting as female that they may not want to be ‘princess...''

(Ezekiel Loseke, Headline USA) Latondra Newton, Disney’s head of diversity, equity and inclusion, is leaving the company after six years, according to an internal email, as reported by RedState.

It follows shortly after news that the company’s top financial officer, Christine M. McCarthy, was stepping down as it faces a catastropic year brought about in large part by its own poor marketing choices.

Despite having seen recent theatrical flops with other “woke” films, the company failed to learn its lesson with the newly released Elemental, which introduced Disney’s first “non-binary” character and also saw its worst box-office opening in 28 years.

Newton’s role at Disney was to ensure the company followed its “commitment to produce entertainment that reflects a global audience and sustains a welcoming and inclusive workplace for everyone,” according to Variety.

However, Newton’s time at Disney was controversial as she oversaw several woke moves that alienated core customers, according to the New York Post.

For example, last year Disney ditched its traditional greeting for its iconic firework show at Disney World.

Newton explained that the cherished, “Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls,” was too exclusionary for the new Disney.

“We want to create that magical moment with our cast members, with our guests,” she said at the time, explaining what the slogan already did for many guests. “And we don’t want to just assume because someone might be—in our interpretation, may be—presenting as female that they may not want to be ‘princess.’”

Newton also oversaw the transing of Cinderella’s fairy godmothers that worked at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Disney Parks.

The “Fairy Godmothers in Training” are now referred to as “Fairy Godmother’s Apprentices,” so that “cast members that might not identify as female can still be part of the process to dress up & style the children without having to refer to themselves as a female Disney character,” according to “Streaming the Magic” Disney’s blog.

Disney also created controversy by hosting homosexual raves at its park during “Pride” month and launching a “Pride” themed series of children’s toys.

Disney officials have also admitted that they were attempting to establish a “not at all secret” homosexual agenda in their children’s programming, a fact apparent to anyone who has witnessed their newer productions.

The company has also engaged in an extended culture struggle with Fla. Gov. Ron DeSantis over his anti-grooming law.
