(Abdul–Rahman Oladimeji Bello, Headline USA) Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., released a statement about Trump’s indictment on Thursday night, suggesting that he was guilty as charged.
Fox News noted that the charges are unclear as the indictment is under seal. However, they reportedly relate to hush-money payments made to porn star Stormy Daniels and former Playboy model Karen McDougal before the 2016 election.
The report further notes that every accused person is innocent until proven guilty by a court of law, according to the United States justice system. However, the former speaker’s statement was inaccurate, as she presumed him guilty.
The Grand Jury has acted upon the facts and the law.
No one is above the law, and everyone has the right to a trial to prove innocence.
Hopefully, the former President will peacefully respect the system, which grants him that right.

Several users on Twitter schooled the former speaker on her error on the rule of law. Former New York City Mayor and former personal lawyer to Trump, Rudy Giuliani, tweeted, “Wrong. So obviously wrong. Most Middle Schoolers know this – at least they used to when civics and the Constitution was respected in schools. You’re innocent until proven guilty.”

Trump responded to the indictment by noting that it was only an attempt from the Democrats to weaponize the “justice system to punish a political opponent,” according to the report by Fox News.
Republican leaders, including House Speaker Kevin McCarthy and Gov. Ron DeSantis, also blasted the district attorney.
“Alvin Bragg has irreparably damaged our country in an attempt to interfere in our Presidential election,” McCarthy wrote. “As he routinely frees violent criminals to terrorize the public, he weaponized our sacred system of justice against President Donald Trump. The American people will not tolerate this injustice, and the House of Representatives will hold Alvin Bragg and his unprecedented abuse of power to account.”
