Congress Launches Probe of John Kerry’s Relationship w/ China

(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) House Republicans announced that they will be launching an investigation into supposed climate czar John Kerry’s actual role in the government—particularly his mysterious relationship with China.

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., sent Kerry a letter requesting information, documents and any description or indication of what his work entails as the so-called Special Presidential Envoy for Climate, according to the Daily Wire.

“The Committee requests documents and information to understand your role and provide necessary transparency over the SPEC and its activities,” he wrote.

“As a member of the President’s cabinet, you should be representing the United States’ interests,” he continued. “Your statements, however, consistently show disregard for American national security and taxpayer dollars.”

Kerry’s current position allows him to travel all over the globe in his private jet and opine about rising oceans, electric vehicles and the nutritional benefits of crickets.

The position did not require the approval of the Senate, though the position is technically under the authority of the State Department.

President Joe Biden approved $13.9 million annual budget—funded by taxpayers—for the SPEC office, which can accommodate a staff of up to 45 people. He also has a spot in the president’s cabinet and the National Security Council.

In his letter, Comer stated that Kerry has ignored previous attempts to get answers about his shady position.

We are left with an insufficient understanding of your office’s activities, spending, and staffing,” he wrote.

Comer is especially keen to understand his relationship with the Chinese Communist Party.

Despite their numerous crimes against their population, Kerry has disregarded China’s human rights violations, claiming climate change is a higher priority.

“Yes we have issues, a number of different issues, but first and foremost, this planet must be protected,” Kerry said after being asked about the problem in September 2021.

For its part, China has not really entertained any form of diplomacy with Kerry, cutting off communication and ramping up coal production.

Biden appointed Kerry—his longtime senate colleague and Obama secretary of State—as envoy shortly after he took office. Notably, Biden’s son Hunter was a business partner with Kerry’s stepson, Chris Heinz, in the equity firm Rosemont Seneca, which brokered several business deals with the Chinese government.
