‘View’ Audience told to Clap as Behar Calls for More Black Gun Violence

'Is Joy for disarming the black community? ... '

(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) Joy Behar of “The View” dropped a hot take yesterday, revealing that she truly believes black Americans do not own guns, and claiming that they would all be confiscated if they did. Twitchy reported.

“Once black people get guns in this country, the gun laws will change—trust me,” Behar spewed, interrupting her co-host.

Behar’s comment was received by a round of uproarious applause by an audience that we can only assume is being held hostage.

It is a well known fact—though not to Behar, apparently—that black Americans have been purchasing guns more than any other demographic over the past two years.

National Shooting Sports Foundation reported that gun ownership among black people had gone up 58.2% in 2020.

Black people now make up 24% of gun owners, compared to 36% of whites and 15% of Hispanic people, according to a Pew Research Center study.

There are varying opinions on what caused this surge.

Some, like the writers at The Hill, believe the surge in black gun ownership was in response to police-initiated violence against black people.

The Wall Street Journal pointed out that many of the country’s largest cities—which have the strictest gun control laws in the country—have shootings nearly every day and black people living in the city have been seeking out guns to protect themselves.

A similar phenomenon occurred during the Black Lives Matter riots of 2020. Asian Americans purchased firearms an attempts to protect their businesses and their lives from “mostly peaceful” arsonists, according to Twitchy.

And, contrary to what Behar may think, 2nd Amendment supporters believe that any American citizen has the right to bear arms.

Twitter users responding to the video let Behar know of this phenomenon.
