Trump Supports MTG, Slams RINOs for Letting Activists Wage Lawfare

'She is now going through hell in their attempt to unseat her, just more of an election mess in Georgia... '

(Tony Sifert, Headline USA) Former President Donald Trump has issued a statement in support of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., as she faces an attempt by Georgia leftists to disqualify her from running for Congress again in 2022.

The lawsuit against Greene alleged that she is “ineligible to be a candidate” because she “voluntarily aided and engaged in an insurrection to obstruct the peaceful transfer of presidential power.”

Among other things, Greene’s accusers point to her Jan. 5, 2021, claim on Newsmax that the events of Jan. 6 would constitute “our 1776 moment.”

Earlier this week, Judge Amy Totenberg of US District Court for the Northern District of Georgia — an Obama appointee — allowed the suit to proceed, in part because it “involves a whirlpool of colliding constitutional interests of public import.”

According to President Trump, however, responsibility for Greene’s plight ought to be laid at the feet of Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp and Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, both of whom have been the focus of Trump’s ire since Jan. 2021 for their respective roles in ignoring voter fraud in the 2020 election.

“The Governor of Georgia, Brian Kemp, and Secretary of State, Brad Raffensperger, perhaps in collusion with the Radical Left Democrats, have allowed a horrible thing to happen to a very popular Republican, Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene,” Trump wrote.

“She is now going through hell in their attempt to unseat her, just more of an election mess in Georgia,” he continued. “Brian Kemp should be voted out of office—vote for David Perdue.”

Trump’s Save America PAC has spent $500,000 in an effort to unseat Kemp this fall, Politico reported.

The organization that is attempting to disqualify Greene — Free Speech For People — is the same that sought to bar Rep. Madison Cawthorn, R-N.C., from office.

The suit against Cawthorn was dismissed last month by Trump-appointed Judge Richard Myers of the eastern district of North Carolina.

“This is the same evil playbook the dishonest Communist Democrats use against President Trump and his family,” Greene told the Daily Mail. “Now they are using it on me, because they know I’m effective and will not bow to the DC machine.”
