After praising himself for having sent more than $2 billion in military aid to the Ukraine and announcing another $1 billion in “humanitarian assistance,” Biden was asked whether the participants in the NATO Summit had discussed food shortages.
“With regard to food shortage, yes, we did talk about food shortages,” Biden responded. “And — and it’s going to be real.”
“The price of these sanctions is not just imposed upon Russia, it’s imposed upon an awful lot of countries as well, including European countries and our country as well,” he continued.

Though his administration has been delighted to blame the Russians for its own failures, Biden’s warning will come as a surprise to White House mouthpiece Jen Psaki, who told reporters earlier this week that “we’re not expecting a food shortage here at home.”
But, as Vice President Kamala Harris has said when addressing “historic” inflation and a skyrocketing increase in the cost of gas, “there is a price to pay for democracy . . . often it ain’t easy.”
Biden, too, has said that “defending freedom will have costs for us as well,” including “rising prices at the pump.”
A Fox News poll suggests, however, that Americans aren’t buying it.
“Two-thirds disapprove of how Biden is handling inflation, including a sizable minority of Democrats,” Fox reported. “A 53% majority thinks Biden has made the economy worse.”
That should give leftists something to chew on, as grocery aisles grow bare.
