Former Olympian Slams Ketanji Brown Jackson For Refusing to Define ‘Woman’

(Headline USA) A former Olympian slammed Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson for refusing to give a definition of what a woman is, arguing Jackson’s embrace of gender ideology “could send the women’s rights movement back decades.”

“If Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson is confirmed, I have no confidence in her ability to protect women,” said Eli Bremer, a pentathlete who competed at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and is now running for the U.S. Senate in Colorado.

“After all, how can you protect something that you cannot define?”

The focus on gender ideology is especially important in light of the Lia Thomas controversy, Bremer said, referring to the University of Pennsylvania transgender swimmer who dominated the NCAA’s women’s swimming championships last week.

“Defining a female in sport is the core issue of women’s rights in sport, which have been federally protected by the federal government for the last 50 years,” she said.

“In a world where Lia Thomas, a biological male, is robbing biological female athletes of their titles and scholarships, how should any woman feel that their rights will be protected under Joe Biden’s Supreme Court?”

Jackson came under fire during her confirmation hearings this week after Sen. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., asked her to “provide a definition” for the word “woman.”

“No, I can’t,” Jackson replied. “I’m not a biologist.”

The next day, Jackson attempted to give a better answer when asked about gender ideology again.

“Let me ask you as a judge, how would you determine if a plaintiff had Article 3 standing to challenge a gender based rule, regulation, policy without being able to determine what a woman was?” Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, asked her.

Jackson replied: “I know that I am a woman, I know that Senator Blackburn is a woman,” she said. “And the woman who I admire most in the world is in the room today – my mother.”
