CNN’s Chris Cuomo helped his embattled brother, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, draft a victim-shaming statement that the governor’s advisers ultimately kept from being released.

The fiery and defiant statement also dismissed the allegations as being a politically motivated scheme orchestrated by Trump supporters.
But Cuomo’s advisers feared that the release would be a public-relations failure, not only because Cuomo’s allegation’s couldn’t be proven, but also because they would further intimidate and harass the apparent female victims.
Chris Cuomo already acknowledged having been involved in some of his brother’s message-crafting to push back against the allegations.
After the disclosure in May, the younger Cuomo was rebuked by many in the media industry—including some at his own network—but faced no consequences from CNN.
Conservative pundit Todd Starnes was among those repeating the call for the network to hold its cash-cow anchor accountable for his brazen ethical violations.
“Both Cuomo brothers should be on the unemployment line by the end of the day,” Starnes told listeners Tuesday on his radio show.
