Never-Trumpers to Air Ads to Pull Christian Support from President

'The moment that he held up that Bible, he revealed this president is using us...'

The Bill Kristol-fronted NeverTrump group Republican Voters Against Donald Trump will air advertisements online and on Fox News in North Carolina to convince Christians and conservatives to withhold their support from President Donald Trump, The Hill reported.

The group will air a video titled, “Trump is Using Us,” which argues that Trump appeals to Christians for political expediency, not out of a sincere desire to protect religious liberty and America’s Christian heritage.

This initiative is part of Defending Democracy Together, a group founded to bolster the Trump-Ukraine hoax and the subsequent impeachment and trial.

Ex-Republicans, including Kristol and former Jeb Bush aide Tim Miller, launched the inaccurately named effort in May 2020.

Kristol changed his party affiliation to Democratic and will vote for former Vice President Joe Biden in 2020.

Miller said he, too, will vote for Biden in 2020, too.

In the above video, a man named Pat said, “Christians have to resist being used to justify things that Jesus would never justify.”

The ad does not contain any new insights, but it instead parrots the corporate media’s talking points and rehashes old scandals.

NeverTrump speakers mention the Access Hollywood tape; the Charlottesville, Va. spin; and the Lafayette Park-St. Johns incident.

“The moment that he held up that Bible, he revealed this president is using us,” Pat said.

Ironically, the advertisement appeals to the emotions of Christians by playing “Amazing Grace” and reading 1 Corinthians 13:4-8.

Yet, they use these Christian messages to build support for Biden, a radical, anti-Christian candidate who supports transgenderism and the murder of unborn children.

Trump campaign spokesperson Erin Perrine dismissed concerns about Trump losing support from Republicans.

“This is the swamp—yet again—trying to take down the duly elected President of the United States,” she said.

“President Trump is the leader of a united Republican Party where he has earned 94% of Republican votes during the primaries—something any former president of any party could only dream of.”
