(Chris Parker, Headline USA) Despite Google’s laughably implausible claims that it’s non-partisan, the tech giant continues to blatantly censor conservatives on its flagship video platform, YouTube.
An alarming number of videos featuring prominent conservatives have recently been removed on the basis of “misinformation,” reported The Daily Wire.
American Conservative Union revealed that footage from its recent Conservative Political Action Conference was censored last week. They also issued a “strike” against the organization and barred them from posting content for a week.
“The removal of CPAC Texas is yet another example of YouTube censoring conservative voices,” CPAC Chairman Matt Schlapp told The Daily Wire. “This cannot continue. The Silicon Valley monopolies abuse their control over the flow of information to prop up the Democrat Party. It’s time we rein in Big Tech.”
CPAC faced a similar ban last year after posting coverage of its lawsuit against Big Tech.
“It is clear that YouTube censored CPAC because we stood with former President Donald Trump on his lawsuit against Big Tech,” CPAC Chairman Matt Schlapp said in a statement at the time. “This is yet another example of Big Tech censoring content with which they disagree in order to promote the political positions they favor.”
Republican comedian Steven Crowder also recently received a similar two-week suspension after posting an interview with Arizona Republican candidate Kari Lake.
Despite claiming “misinformation” as its pretense, YouTube continues to host videos claiming that the violent far-left riots of 2020 were “mostly peaceful protests.”
YouTube isn’t the only social media platform censoring verifiable information from conservatives.
Whistleblower and former FBI special agent Steve Friend recently filed a complaint with the Department of Justice alleging that the FBI “has been manipulating case-file management in order to falsely inflate the threat of domestic terrorism, and has been using unconstitutional and excessive force in efforts to persecute political opponents of the Biden administration.”
Friend received support from a variety of groups and concerned citizens for his brave efforts. Facebook responded by suspending his account.
