White House Throws DOJ Under Bus for Mar-a-Lago Raid

'No one at the White House was given a heads up, no... '

(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) Following the unprecedented FBI raid on former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home, the White House is attempting to distance itself from what is being roundly condemned as politically-motivated targeting.

According to Western Journal, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was asked whether or not the Biden administration knew about the raid ahead of time. Jean-Pierre denied that the administration was briefed on the raid.

“No, the president was not briefed, was not aware of it. No. No one at the White House was given a heads up, no. That did not happen.”

This is not normal procedure for the White House. Many presidents are aware of the FBI’s plans to execute large search warrants on anyone, particularly the former president of the United States.

While it is possible Biden and his staff did not know the raid was planned, that does not bode well for the organization of the staff, security experts warned. If it is the case that Biden was unaware of the raid, Attorney General Merrick Garland would have certainly known and should have communicated it to the president.

The Department of Justice and FBI would also be culpable, as the lack of communication represents a failure to execute their duties properly.

Whether the White House was aware of the raid and is now lying, or there was a lack of communication to the president remains to be seen.

Jean Pierre continued the strategy denial and silence throughout the rest of the briefing, claiming she could not comment on an ongoing investigation.

One reporter commented that the raid “reeks of politics.”

“Look, I’ll say this: the president and the White House learned about this FBI search from public reports,” Jean Pierre said. “We learned just like the American public did yesterday, and we did not have advanced notice of this activity.

“President Biden has been very clear from before he was elected president and throughout his time in office that the Justice Department conducts its investigation independently.”
