(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) The University of Delaware has received millions of dollars in donations from China, including some directly from the Chinese government, since Joe Biden set up a program at the school in his name.
The Government Accountability Institute discovered the anonymous Chinese funds flowing into the Biden Institute at UD, as reported Monday by the Drilldown.
According to Breitbart, Biden founded the institute in 2017, just after his second term as vice president.
“Part of Biden’s vision for the institute is an annual conference at UD, similar to the World Economic Forum or the Aspen Institute,” said the announcement of the new addition the school.
At the time of the announcement, several members of the Biden family, including his son Hunter, were actively pursuing business ventures with high-ranking Chinese officials.
Before the implementation of the Biden Institute on UD’s campus, there were no disclosed donations from the Chinese government or any officials related to the eastern power.
A year after the Biden Institute was announced, payments of millions of dollars started pouring in—the first adding up to $3,204,070 from an anonymous donor in China.
Several other payments of either millions or hundreds of thousands continue to pour into the institute.
At least three of the donations are confirmed to be from a “Foreign Government Source.”
The idea for the institute originated with Hunter Biden. He and his business partner, Eric Schwerin, met with UD’s then-incoming president, Dennis Assanis, in order to get the plans to build the “Biden brand” while his father was still in office.
The younger Biden was very concerned about the elder Biden’s “future earnings potential.”
In addition to the Biden Institute, the University of Delaware is currently in possession of some 1,800 boxes worth Biden’s official Senate records and consistently rejects requests from people hoping to study them.
Calls for a federal raid of the archives emerged after several boxes of classified materials, some dating back to Biden’s Senate days, were discovered at locations including his home in Wilmingon, Del., and his office at the Penn Biden Center think tank in Washington, D.C.
The global-policy think-tank is run through the University of Pennsylvania, which also accepted multi-million-dollar donations from anonymous foreign investors. Those donations roughly tripled after the opening of the Penn Biden Center, in March 2017.
Prior to running for office, both Biden and now-Secretary of State Antony Blinken drew substantial salaries from the center.
