Turley: Dems, Media Colluding in Bid to ‘Implode’ Hunter Biden Probe

(Tony Sifert, Headline USA) In a commentary published by Fox News, legal analyst Jonathan Turley has suggested that the Biden administration’s collusion with the media over the numerous Hunter Biden scandals has entered a new phase.

According to Turley, the media is “recalibrating” now that the 2020 election is over and the “laptop from hell” has made its see-no-evil-hear-no-evil strategy implausible.

They’re willing to talk about Hunter Biden now that President Biden has become a liability to the Democrat Party, but they’re desperate to restrict the conversation to complicated and boring lobbying and tax issues rather than allow the public to focus on Biden family corruption generally.

In his column, Turley introduced the term “controlled demolition” to describe the new strategy.

“It is called controlled demolition: the implosion of a scandal to limit any blast effect on nearby structures or individuals,” Turley wrote. “Like those buildings dropped between other structures, it takes precision and, most importantly, cooperation to pull off.”

The strategy relies mainly on Attorney General Merrick Garland holding the line on his refusal to appoint a special counsel to investigate Hunter Biden “despite the overwhelming need for such an appointment.”

Turley pointed to New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman’s recent claim that President Biden should “absolutely” be investigated over allegations that he has personally benefitted from his son’s foreign influence-peddling.

In an appearance on CNBC’s Squawk Box, the pope of boomer liberalism suggested that the NYT could have done more to investigate the story earlier.

“You pursue these stories unto their innermost parts,” Friedman said. “I know the New York Times felt it didn’t pursue it originally as much as it wanted to; then it followed up, as I recall.”
