Trump Says Mar-a-Lago Security Tapes Were NOT Deleted, Accuses DOJ of ‘Prosecutorial Fiction’

'We are dealing with sick and evil people! ... '

(Mark Pellin, Headline USA) In a bombshell statement, Donald Trump accused the Biden Justice Department’s special counsel Jack Smith of prosecutorial misconduct for pushing false charges that the former president had deleted security tapes related to the Mar-a-Lago classified documents case.

Smith last week issued three superseding indictments to the 37-counts already being pursued, adding one additional Espionage Act charge, stemming from Trump’s alleged willful retention of national defense information, and two additional counts of obstruction for allegedly attempting to delete surveillance footage at Mar-a-Lago.

Trump at the time blasted the move as blatant election interference, and in a series of Truth Social posts on Sunday said that the MAL security tapes had not been deleted. Trump torched Smith for dishing illegal and bogus leaks to a regime-friendly mainstream media.

“The Crooked Election Interference ‘Thugs’ from the DOJ, headed by the worst Thug of them all, Deranged Jack Smith, are now admitting that the Mar-a-Lago Security Tapes were NOT DELETED. That’s not what they were illegally leaking to the press,” Trump wrote.

“These guys should be prosecuted for MISCONDUCT. Also, whatever happened to Crooked Joe’s Documents? Where are the ones he sent and stored in Chinatown? Is Deranged Jack going to Indict him for this and, at the same time, receiving BRIBES FROM CHINA?”

Trump’s bombshell claim about the allegedly deleted tapes added critical context to previous reporting from Julie Kelly, who raised questions about the additional obstruction charge when the superseding indictment was filed.

Kelly noted that the DOJ had already admitted it has nine months of security footage from inside Mar-a-Lago, adding that Trump defense attorneys had told a judge that the “total footage equates to three years of video because of multiple cameras.”

Trump on Sunday emphatically stated that no security footage had been deleted.

“Same as the Russia, Russia, Russia HOAX,” he wrote. “They knowingly accuse you of a fake crime, a crime that they actually make up, you fight these false charges hard, and they try and get you on ‘obstruction.’ We are dealing with sick and evil people!”
