(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Donald Trump and his super PAC, MAGA Inc., have both issued hilarious reactions to former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s announcement of his candidacy for the GOP primary in the 2024 presidential race.
On Tuesday, the former president shared his thoughts on Christie’s announcement in a Truth Social post, stating, “How many times did Chris Christie use the word SMALL? Does he have a psychological problem with SIZE? Actually, his speech was SMALL, and not very good.”
Christie made his bid official at a New Hampshire rally and on Twitter, claiming to be the only candidate who can stand up to Trump and “tell the truth.” He criticized his opponents for allegedly tip-toeing around Trump, boldly stating, “I don’t tiptoe.”
Reacting to Christie’s rally, Trump described it as hard to watch and “boring.” He further commented, “[T]hat’s what you get from a failed Governor (New Jersey) who left office with a 7% approval rating and then got run out of New Hampshire,” referring to Christie’s failed 2016 bid.
According to the New York Post, Christie left his governorship embroiled in scandal after the 2013 “Bridgegate” incident, where his officials ordered the closure of parts of the George Washington Bridge as political retribution against an official who didn’t endorse Christie’s re-election.
I’m running for President of the United States because the truth still matters. We need leaders that are willing to stand up and tell it like it is.
That’s what this campaign is about.

Christie now enters a crowded field of GOP hopefuls, all aiming to challenge Trump, who currently leads the polls with a substantial margin.
During an interview with Fox News’s Sean Hannity on Friday, Trump expressed his lack of understanding regarding the motivations of the other candidates running in the GOP primary. “I don’t think it matters,” he remarked. “I don’t know why people are doing it. They’re at one percent, some are at zero.”
Karoline Leavitt, a spokeswoman for Trump’s MAGA Inc. super PAC, echoed Trump’s sentiment by saying, “Chris Christie will waste no time eating DeSantis’s lunch.” She added, “Ron DeSantis’s campaign is spiraling, and President Trump’s dominance over the Republican primary field has opened a mad rush to seize the mantle for runner-up.”
Adding a touch of humor to the conversation, popular podcast host and former editor for The Daily Wire, Ben Shapiro, responded to Leavitt’s statement on Twitter, quipping, “Also just applicable to lunch in general.”
