Trump Launches New Platform to Reach Supporters After Social Media Censorship

'From the Desk of Donald J. Trump'...

Former President Donald Trump has launched a new communications platform to combat ongoing bans from Facebook and Twitter, Fox News reported.

He has called the new website “From the Desk of Donald J. Trump,” on which he posts comments, videos, and stories.

The website allows users to easily share Trump’s posts to Twitter and Facebook, both of which banished the former president from their platforms in the wake of the rally in Washington, D.C. on January 6.

Twitter has permanently banned Trump on the grounds that he incited and supported violence on January 6.

Revisiting its initial ban, Facebook announced on Wednesday morning that its oversight board voted to uphold his ban from the platform, due to his violations of Facebook’s rules.

Leading up to and in the aftermath of the 2020 election, the partisanship of the Big Tech giants has been exposed as they cracked down on conservatives and used their platforms to curate news.

Trump created the new platform to communicate with his supporters, since other major outlets have been cut off.

He has touted it as “a place to speak freely and safely.”

The former president has also used the platform to take shots at political opponents, especially within the Republican party, writing that it was “nice to see RINO Mitt Romney booed off stage,” referencing Romney’s disastrous appearance last week at the Utah GOP convention.

He also called it “heartwarming” to see Liz Cheney‘s plummeting polling numbers in Wyoming as she is increasingly abandoned by Republicans in the House.

Presumably, the former president will also use the platform to back candidates more sympathetic to his cause as he works with Republican leadership to realign the party.
