REPORT: Trump Is Considering a 2024 Run

'Grover Cleveland came back. Donald Trump should think about it if he falls short...'

President Donald Trump has reportedly told close advisers that, should he fail to clinch re-election victory after the ongoing legal challenges, he is considering running for president in the 2024 election, according to Axios.

Although many in the leftist media have declared Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden the winner, Trump has not conceded.

He plans to fight the election results in at least four states. But if he loses in court, several advisers say he plans to consider trying one more time.

If he were to run, he would be the odds-on favorite in a GOP primary given his level of support among the GOP, and due to the fact that he won more votes this year than he did in 2016.

Several Republicans have already expressed support for the idea, including Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C.

“I would encourage him to think about doing it,” Graham said on Fox News Radio.

Former acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney also predicted that Trump would run again if his campaign’s court cases don’t go the way he’d like.

“I would absolutely expect the president to stay involved in politics and would absolutely put him on the shortlist of people who are likely to run in 2024,” Mulvaney said.

Similarly, Rick Gaetz, a 2016 campaign aide, told USA Today that Trump would likely “seriously consider another run in 2024.”

Some Republican campaign advisers, however, are wary of another Trump run. They believe his involvement could discourage other Republican contenders from participating in the primary election, which would ultimately make it more difficult for the Republican Party to move on from Trump, according to Axios.

But Graham argued that Trump’s presidency is not just about one man; it’s a “movement” that the president should not let “die,” he said, invoking the spirit of the nation’s 22nd and 24th president, Grover Cleveland, who was, like Trump, a champion who fought against corruption in the Democrat Party.

“Grover Cleveland came back,” Graham added. “Donald Trump should think about it if he falls short.”

Right now, however, Trump and the rest of the GOP are focused on their legal battles in Georgia, Pennsylvania, Nevada, Arizona and Wisconsin.

Graham said it was premature to begin discussing a Trump comeback when he hasn’t lost the current contest.

“I talked to the president for a long time yesterday. ,” Graham said.

He wants to fight, and he should fight,” Graham said. “… If we can close the margins in Arizona and Georgia and look at provisional ballots, this is not over.”
