(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) Former President Donald Trump made a triumphant return to social media this week, writing his first substantial post on his new social media platform Truth Social, Breitbart reported.
Referring to one of his most famous tweets from the past, Trump wrote “I’M BACK #COVFEFE” for his first Truth Social post.
The hashtag was an allusion to a May 2017 tweet, in which he wrote: “Despite the constant negative press covfefe.”
Many speculated that covfefe was a typo, but Trump later posted: “Who can figure out the true meaning of ‘covfefe’ ??? Enjoy!”
But according to the White House press secretary at the time, Sean Spicer, there were some who knew what Trump meant.
“The president and a small group of people know exactly what he meant,” he said.
The post was Trump’s first since the application was officially up and running, though he posted “Get Ready! Your favorite President will see you soon!” in a test run two months ago.
In the wake of Elon Musk‘s purchase of Twitter, many have speculated that the former President would rejoin Twitter, though Trump told Fox News earlier this week that he was not likely to rejoin the site.
“I am not going on Twitter. I am going to stay on TRUTH,” Trump told Fox. “I hope Elon buys Twitter because he’ll make improvements to it, and he is a good man, but I am going to be staying on TRUTH.”
Despite leftist attempts to discredit the former President’s new social media platform, Truth Social was the most downloaded application on the Apple store this week.
