Trans Radicals Attempt to Cancel HBO’s New ‘Harry Potter’ Series

'J.K. Rowling, now carries the same baggage as eating at a Chick-fil-A or shopping at Hobby Lobby...'

(Ezekiel Loseke, Headline USA) Radical leftists are attempting to cancel a new, decade long Harry Potter series scheduled to run on HBO Max, because of J.K. Rowling’s political ideas about transgenderism.

HBO Max just announced that it will stream a decade-long, faithful Harry Potter TV series with J.K. Rowling as the executive director of the project, according to RollingStone.

This announcement has triggered radical leftists and the media into waging an all-out war of censorship on Rowling and the new franchise. Kathryn VanArendonk, writing for the aptly named Volture, attacked the concept of fidelity itself.

“Faithfulness is a meaningless goal, a quixotic and doomed exercise that’s both creatively bankrupt and almost inevitably dull,” she wrote. “Actually, faithfulness is bad because it is — stay with me here — impossible and boring.”

VanAnderdonk argued that even if a faithful adaption of Harry Potter was possible, it would be bad because of the bigotry of Rowling.

Indeed, the project is aiming to establish something bad because “the series will follow the books exactly,” she wrote. “[There will be] no messing around with new interpretations of characters (racial or gendered or otherwise), no incorporation of Potter-skeptical ideas like ‘Hey, maybe it’s not great that the goblin bankers resemble certain antisemitic tropes.'”

For VanAnderdonk, the problem is that the morality of the story will faithfully reflect the morality of Rowling and her era.

Movieweb.com published an article entitled “Six Reasons Why a Harry Potter Series Is a Bad Idea.” The articles number one reason is “The Controversy of J.K. Rowling.”

“While the Harry Potter books may have taught a generation of young fans tolerance, the author’s own personal views have aligned with the hateful and bigoted point of view of many of the villains in Harry Potter,” it reads. “J.K. Rowling’s involvement in Harry Potter makes it difficult to go back and enjoy the original works and makes it impossible to look forward to any new Harry Potter project knowing she will profit from it.”

“It is up to the individual viewer if they can separate the artist from the art, but Rowling makes the situation especially difficult.”

Indeed, the article categorized Rowling with the radical Left’s biggest enemies.

“J.K. Rowling now carries the same baggage as eating at a Chick-fil-A or shopping at Hobby Lobby.”

The ever woke Daily Beast managed to produce an article entitled, “No One Wants Max’s Harry Potter TV Series From J.K. Rowling.” Surely, HBO Max is fronting a 10-year project because its executives think no one will watch it.

Jonathan Turley produced an article comparing the political blackballing of Rowling to McCarthy-era censorship of communist actors.

The comparison of censorship is apt, but as veteran reporter M. Stanton Evans showed in his book Blacklisted by History: The Untold Story of Senator Joe McCarthy and His Fight Against America’s Enemies, McCarthy was correct about the presence of communists running the deep state in America. McCarthy’s Marxist enemies in the Universities and the state created the cultural Marxism attacking Rowling today.
