‘The View’ Co-Host Says She Thought About Suing Trump Over In-Laws’ COVID Deaths

'I blame the Trump administration for that... '

(Headline USA) Sunny Hostin, co-host of “The View,” said she considered suing the Trump administration after her in-laws died during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The leftist pundit and former federal prosecutor said she blamed former President Donald Trump for her in-laws’ deaths, and admitted her family “has thought … a lot” about how to hold him accountable, including a potential lawsuit.

“My family has thought about this a lot, especially because Manny’s [Emmanuel Hostin] parents died from COVID, and I blame the Trump administration for that,” she said.

“But can you sue them?” co-host Joy Behar asked. “Not that he has any money.”

“We’ve explored it,” she said this week. “We’ve thought about it.”

Hostin added that she ultimately decided against pursuing legal action because executive privilege protected Trump from a lawsuit of this nature.

She also accused Trump of looking for a “scapegoat” for his failed handling of the pandemic, which turns out to be Dr. Anthony Fauci, she said.

Hostin’s in-laws, Drs. A. Emmanuel and Maria Jesus Hostin, died of complications from COVID-19 on Dec. 28, 2020, and Jan. 1, 2021, respectively. The co-host said they both took preventive measures, avoiding social gatherings and communicating only virtually.

“After a lot of contact tracing, we still don’t know how they contracted the virus and this disease,” she said.

“COVID is devastating and while my kids and Manny’s siblings, Helen and Carlos, we are in deep grief, we want everybody to know that you may think you’re healthy and that you won’t be impacted,” she said,”but you could be an asymptomatic carrier, you could put someone you love at risk.”
