Seymour Hersh Doubles-Down on Biden Blame for Nord Stream Sabotage: ‘He Did It’

'I'm not taking a flier on this. I've spent a lot of time on this, and he did it... '

(Mark Pellin, Headline USA) After sparking widespread speculation, theories and concerns last month about the origins of the Nord Stream pipeline explosion, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Seymour Hersh this week reiterated his claim that “the United States executed a covert sea operation that was kept secret” to sabotage the pipeline.

Hersh told a packed house at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., that President Joe Biden pulled the trigger on an operation to sabotage the pipeline to bolster his image as a war time president and help his poll numbers.

“He did it. He did it, I’m telling you, he did it,” Hersh said, and admonished the mainstream media for not pressing the administration for a full account.

“I’m not taking a flier on this. I’ve spent a lot of time on this, and he did it,” Hersh said, claiming that Biden made the decision in January 2022 to “see if we can find a way to blow… those pipelines, and put [the Russians] back in the dark ages.”

Hersh last month dropped a bombshell report that cited sources who claimed direct knowledge of the Biden regime’s covert mission to have Navy divers plant explosives near the pipelines under cover of a NATO exercise. The Pentagon and CIA coordinated the sabotage plan with the White House, with CIA operatives reportedly stressing that “This is not kiddie stuff … It’s an act of war.”

When asked Thursday if Hersh thought Biden was trying to lure Russia into a direct conflict, and if so, who was running the show, Hersh reached for what he said was a quote from his Jewish grandmother.

“Who knows?” Hersh said. “I don’t know who’s running him. I do know that his status is such that he could talk all the smack he wants to about how safe the banks are and they’re still diving.”

The prospect of war, though, can play for good politics, Hersh said.

“I think Biden also saw beating up Russia as a ticket to ride,” he said. “Historically, Jack Kennedy is a classic example – presidents always did well politically in wars.”

As Hersh was holding forth on the prospects of Biden ordering the Nord Stream explosion, a spokesman for China’s Foreign Ministry was also keen for answers.

During a Thursday press conference, Wang Wenbin expressed skepticism about reports from U.S. intelligence officials that a pro-Ukrainian group was behind the explosion, and called for an “objective, impartial and professional investigation into the explosions.” Wenbin said that “those responsible must be held to account. It is important to speed up the investigation, so as to swiftly find out the truth.”

Wenbin also questioned the media’s coverage of the bombing, which he accused of pushing a narrative that clears the Biden regime.

“We have noted that some Western media have been mysteriously quiet after Hersh reported that the US was behind the Nord Stream blast,” Wenbin said. “But now these media are unusually simultaneous in making their voice heard. How would the US account for such abnormality? Is there anything hidden behind the scene?”

As Hersh’s grandmother might say, “Who knows?” The Biden administration is in no hurry to answer.
