(Ken Silva, Headline USA) For the last decade, the World Bank has suppressed sexual abuse allegations at a Kenyan school financed by numerous globalist organizations and billionaires, including Bill Gates, according to a bombshell report by The Intercept.
Citing a leaked 82-page report from the World Bank’s Compliance Advisor Ombudsman, The Intercept reported Tuesday that the World Bank has been aware of sexual-abuse complaints at the Bridge International Academies in Africa since at least 2013. The report further found that Bridge itself was aware of at least 21 credible cases of child sex abuse, according to The Intercept.
The allegations included a teacher slashing a student’s scrotum and “a dozen or more cases of serial sexual assault.” Bridge also allegedly suppressed information about a child on school grounds that had been fatally electrocuted by a dangling live wire.
The complaints were reportedly suppressed for so long, in large part, because Bridge’s founders devised a scheme with the World Bank to keep the investigatory findings secret. According to The Intercept, the parties entered into a non-disclosure agreement that would allow the World Bank to investigate Bridge, but would not be able to publish its findings.
“This smacks of a child sexual abuse cover-up at the highest levels of the World Bank,” said Inclusive Development International executive director David Pred, who had inside knowledge about the matter.
“Why else would the [World Bank International Finance Corporation’s] General Counsel approve an NDA with a client under investigation that binds the ostensibly independent office that is carrying out the investigation?”
Bridge reportedly declined to engage with the allegations raised by The Intercept, which has previously covered sexual abuse allegations at that institution.
“Bridge has previously provided The Intercept with a comprehensive amount of material on safeguarding,” a Bridge spokesperson told the outlet. “These allegations are clearly false as is evidenced within the extensive and detailed responses — including the publically [sic] available 2020 Tunza report — shared with The Intercept in March 2023.”
The spokesperson reportedly declined to specify which allegations she was referring to.
Along with Gates, Bridge International Academies has reportedly received funding from eBay and Intercept founder Pierre Omidyar, as well as Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg via his charity, the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative.
Sens. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., and Peter Welch, D-Vt., have written a letter to Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and World Bank executive L. Felice Gorordo, demanding answers about the matter.
“We write to seek your assurance that the U.S. Department of the Treasury and U.S. officials at the World Bank Group will take the necessary steps to ensure that these allegations are expeditiously, independently, and thoroughly investigated, that any victims of abuse are provided access to justice, and that the IFC is adopting new, effective measures to prevent child sexual exploitation across its portfolio,” the senators said in an Oct. 10 letter.
