Rep. MTG to Introduce Censure Resolution against ‘Terrorist Sympathizer’ Tlaib

'There's always kind of a calming feeling, I tell folks, when I think of the Holocaust...'

(Headline USARep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., said this week she plans to introduce a censure resolution against “Squad” Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., accusing her of “sympathizing with terrorist organizations” and anti-Semitism.

Tlaib has not condemned Hamas’s Oct. 7 terrorist attack on Israel, but has repeatedly denounced Israel over the past couple of weeks for retaliating against the Palestinian group in Gaza. She even led a pro-Palestinian protest on Capitol Hill last week, during which more than 300 protesters were arrested.

Greene argued that Democratic leadership—including House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., who has weathered his own allegations of anti-Semitism—should hold Tlaib accountable, but have refused to do so.

“The [Democratic] Party has done nothing to hold her accountable,” Greene told Fox News.

“They’ve done nothing to rein her in, and no one else here has done it,” Greene continued. “And so I thought it was right to list examples of—this isn’t just new. This isn’t a one-off thing. This is exactly who she is.”

The resolution would censure Tlaib “for antisemitic activity, sympathizing with terrorist organizations, and leading an insurrection at the United States Capitol Complex.”

It lists a number of controversial comments Tlaib has made that Greene cited as examples of anti-Semitism, including when Tlaib said the Holocaust gave her a “calming feeling” in 2019.

“There’s always kind of a calming feeling, I tell folks, when I think of the Holocaust, and the tragedy of the Holocaust, and the fact that it was my ancestors—Palestinians—who lost their land, and some lost their lives, their livelihood, their human dignity, their existence in many ways … and just all of it was in the name of trying to create a safe haven for Jews, post-the Holocaust, post-the tragedy and the horrific persecution of Jews across the world at that time,” Tlaib said in 2019.

Greene predicted that she will “have every single Republican vote with us for this central resolution.”

She also claimed Democrats will be forced to support it.

“It would be shocking to me if they didn’t vote for it,” she added.
