Progressives Look to Challenge Slidin’ Biden as His Popularity Plummets

'He’s largely been ineffective, unless we’re counting judges or whatever the hell inside-baseball scorecard we’re using. And I think he’ll probably get demolished in the midterms... '

Historically unpopular President Joe Biden‘s has set a new record as his approval rating once more dropped to basement lows, Fox News reported.

The embattled old president’s approval rating has dipped to 43% in recent days, marking a further decline that has caused his own party to lose confidence in his leadership.

His waning popularity does not bode well for the 2022 midterms.

Sleepy Joe’s failures have led some within the Democrat party to consider challenging him in 2024.

Some political experts claimed that Progressive Nina Turner or former 2020 presidential candidate Marianne Williamson might be willing to take on the role.

Certainly the equally unpopular Vice President Kamala Harris appears to be in no position to challenge.

“Will there be a progressive challenger? Yes,” Jeff Weaver, a former presidential campaign manager said.

Some cited Biden’s age, as well as his general incompetence, as reasons for moving on.

Corbin Trent, former communications director for Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez claimed that Biden is “deeply unpopular” and “old as s—.”

Trent also emphasized Biden’s inability to accomplish anything substantial, citing that his only success has been in the appointment of judges.

“He’s largely been ineffective, unless we’re counting judges or whatever the hell inside-baseball scorecard we’re using. And I think he’ll probably get demolished in the midterms,” Trent added.

But other Democrats realize how divisive such a decision would be for the already-splintering party.

“If a Democrat runs, it would be viewed as divisive within the party and is likely not to attract a marquee candidate,” said Lee Miringoff, director of the Marist Institute for Public Opinion. “I think it might be someone who is still looking to raise some issues and create some attention,”

The Progressive wing of the party has showed increasing frustration with Biden’s inability to enact their preferred policies, especially in relation to climate change, anti-racism, and increasingly severe COVID lock downs.
