Politico Founder Says Dems Are ‘Spooked’ by Biden’s Constant Failures

'We're seeing a lot of these candidates in competitive races not wanting to be Biden Democrats... '

(Tony Sifert, Headline USAVulnerable Democrats throughout the country are unwilling to be associated with President Joe Biden and his failing agenda, according to Politico co-founder Jim Vandehei.

Vandehei appeared on MSNBC to highlight the political consequences of President Biden’s epic failures.

“Democrats are spooked by the idea of appearing with Joe Biden,” Vandehei said during a Jan. 28 appearance on MSNBC’s “Way Too Early” with Jonathan Lemire.

Vandehei made reference to Rep. Steny Hoyer‘s, D-Md., avoidance of the term “Biden Democrats” in an interview with Politico.

“I want every Democrat to run as ‘Democrats who deliver,’ Hoyer told Politico. “Point to the record. Point to what was done.”

For Vandehei, that means candidates are looking elsewhere than the White House and, like Stacey Abrams, avoiding contact with the man Elon Musk has called “a damp sock puppet in human form” when the president visits their states.

“We’re seeing a lot of these candidates in competitive races not wanting to be Biden Democrats,” he said.

Pennsylvania Democrats Lt. Gov. John Fetterman and Attorney General Josh Shapiro have also snubbed the embattled president recently, according to Newsweek.

In an Axios piece co-written with Mike Allen, Vandehei wrote that Biden “has never been less popular nationally, after personally lobbying his party and the public on Build Back Better and voting rights — and failing.”

Build Back Better was supposed to be Biden’s FDR moment,” Vandehei wrote. “Voting rights could have been his LBJ moment.”

“Instead, he’s likely to end Year 1 with neither,” he concluded.

This new Democratic messaging represents a stark change from the advice given by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee as recently as August, according to The Western Journal.

“Run as ‘Biden Democrats,'” was the DCCC’s advice a mere six months ago.
