Post Office Warns States about Risks, Delays Associated with Mass Mail-in Voting

(Headline USA) The U.S. Postal Service is warning states coast to coast that it cannot guarantee all ballots cast by mail for the November election will arrive in time to be counted, even if mailed by state deadlines.

Voters and lawmakers in several states are also complaining that some curbside mail collection boxes are being removed.

Even as President Donald Trump rails against wide-scale voting by mail, the post office is bracing for an unprecedented number of mail-in ballots as a result of media-hyped fear and hysteria.

The warning letters sent to states raise the possibility that many Americans eligible for mail-in ballots this fall will not have them counted.

But that is not the intent, Postmaster General Louis DeJoy said in his own letter to Democratic congressional leaders.

The post office is merely “asking elected officials and voters to realistically consider how the mail works, and be mindful of our delivery standards, in order to provide voters ample time to cast ballots through the mail,” wrote DeJoy.

Meanwhile, members of Congress from both parties have voiced concerns that curbside mail boxes, which is how many will cast their ballots, have abruptly been removed in some states.

At the same time that the need for timely delivery of the mail is peaking, service has been curtailed amid cost-cutting and efficiency measures ordered by the DeJoy, the new postmaster general, who is a former supply-chain CEO.

He has implemented measures to eliminate overtime pay and hold mail over if distribution centers are running late.

The federal watchdog of the Postal Service has opened an inquiry into operational changes at the agency that have delayed mail deliveries across the country, a spokeswoman said Friday.

That comes after Sen. Elizabeth Warren, of Massachusetts, and eight other Democrats sent a letter requesting a review.

The Post Office released copies of the warning letters it sent to all 50 states and the District of Columbia on its website.

While some states were given a less stringent warning, the majority were told the situation could be more dire.

The laws, the letter said, create a “risk that ballots requested near the deadline under state law will not be returned by mail in time to be counted.”

The mass mailing of the warning letters was first reported by The Washington Post.
Many state officials criticized the move.

(Deroy Murdock, Headline USA) If Kamala Harris is a moderate, Joe Biden is a teenager.

Soon after the former vice president, 77, revealed on Tuesday the woman he hopes will become his vice president, newsroom Leftists rushed to disguise the 55-year-old junior senator from California as a centrist.

The so-called Paper of Record dubbed Harris “a pragmatic moderate.”

ABC’s George Stephanopoulos said that Harris “comes from the middle of the road, moderate wing of the Democratic Party.”

Nonsense. Harris is a Right-winger! Just ask the Washington Post, which called her “a small-c conservative.”

This, of course, is unwittingly hilarious, when it’s not maddening.

These and other media organizations know better. They are busy repackaging the far-Left Harris as a half-Jamaican/half-East Indian version of Senator Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, whose office occupies the 50-yard line of the Redskins generic Washington team.

In fact, Kamala Harris is Bernie Sanders with long, black hair.

Actually, that’s a tad unfair to the socialist senator from Vermont. He is merely the second-Leftest member of the World’s Greatest Deliberative body.

Who’s No. 1? Kamala Harris!

According to GovTrack’s legislative-vote analysis, Harris is “Ranked most liberal compared to All Senators.” With a score of 0.0, Harris was the 100th most conservative senator.

Sanders was No. 99, with a 0.02. So, this “small-c conservative” actually votes to the Left of Bernie Sanders.

GovTrack also considers Harris a rigid partisan. She “[j]oined bipartisan bills the least often compared to Senate Democrats.”

Other key legislative report cards also find Harris in or near the ideological end zone.

The American Conservative Union scored Harris a dismal 9 percent in 2018.

That year, the pro-market National Taxpayers Union graded Harris a D.

In contrast, the Americans for Democratic Action gave Harris a perfect, 100-percent-liberal rating in 2018 (before her 2019 presidential run and consequent truancy muddied results).

Biden, for his part, was stumbling-over-a-cliff Left in 2008, his last year in the Senate. The ACU judged Biden a 0. The NTU ruled him an F. And the ADA rated him an 80.

Based on actual Senate votes, Biden–Harris is the farthest-Left Democrat ticket since George McGovern and Thomas Eagleton in 1972, if not in U.S. history.

Yeas and Nays aside, Harris’ policies catapult her over the port side of the ship of state.

  • “On Day One, we’re going to repeal that tax bill,” Harris said, promising to torpedo President Donald J. Trump’s entire Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and sink the finances of American businesses, families, and individuals. Harris also said: “We’ve got to raise the corporate tax rate” from 21 percent all the way back to 35 percent — 10 points higher than in Red China.
  • “I am prepared to get rid of the filibuster to pass a Green New Deal,” the $32.6 trillion eco-Leviathan, which she co-sponsored. Ditching the filibuster could jet-propel Biden–Harris’ entire radical agenda through the Senate if Democrats secure a simple majority.
  • Harris co-sponsored the Medicare for All Act, Bernie Sanders’ plan to nationalize healthcare and kill the private health coverage of some 180 million Americans.
  • “Raise your hand if your government plan would provide coverage for undocumented immigrants,” NBC’s Savannah Guthrie asked debating Democrats in June 2019. Up went Harris’s hand.
  • Harris itches to repeal 8 U.S. Code § 1325 and, thus, decriminalize illegal entry into the USA.
  • Harris favors “banning Right to Work laws. That needs to happen.” This would cost 166 million Americans in 27 states their protections against mandatory unionization.
  • “There’s no question I’m in favor of banning fracking,” Harris declared on CNN. If she prevailed, Americans would kiss energy independence goodbye. Harris further threatened: “Under my plan, there would also be a carbon fee.”
  • How about a compulsory gun-buyback program? “I think it’s a good idea,” Harris said Sept. 6 in New Hampshire. “We have to take those guns off the streets.”

Democrats offer Americans a fragile, fading, solid-Left Joe Biden and, one heartbeat behind him, the even-harder-Left Kamala Harris.

You have been warned.

Politifact Rates Claim that ‘Joe Biden Is a Pedophile’ as ‘Pants on Fire’

Politifact decided to investigate whether Joe Biden is a pedophile and the so-called expert fact-checking website issued a “pants on fire” ruling—no pun intended.

Facebook then used Politifact’s conclusion to censor posts that showed Biden engaging in inappropriate physical contact with minors, denouncing the claims as false in spite of the visual evidence to the contrary.

Biden, the Democrat Party’s presumptive presidential nominee, has a long, visible history of touching women and children in ways that appear inappropriate and perhaps deeply disturbing.

But Politifact, a project of the liberal Poynter Institute, declared any such concerns illegitimate because the issue’s assigned fact-checker found no smoking gun to validate the claims.

“There is no credible evidence that supports this claim,” Politifact reported.

“In Joe Biden’s more than 40 years of public life, we could find no news reports, formal accusations, complaints, arrests or investigations that implicate him in any sort of sex crimes involving kids,” it said.

The fact-checker arbitrarily cited random social media posts and “QAnon” in her analysis, rather than give credence to photographic and video evidence of Biden’s behavior.

She further explained that Politifact partners with Facebook to remove “false news and misinformation” from the global social media platform.

In one instance, Politifact linked to a collage of incriminating photos but characterized the post as a conspiracy theory.

In another, the fact-checker accused Donald Trump Jr. of perpetuating the Biden conspiracy for posting a humorous Instagram image that said, “See you later, alligator” next to a picture of an alligator saying, “In a while, pedophile.”

The news media and the Biden campaign attacked Trump Jr. for the social media joke and accused him of attempting to deflect attention from President Donald Trump’s failures.

For his part, President Donald Trump has dubbed Biden with the nickname “Creepy Joe.”

Trump Jr. cleverly apologized while using the opportunity to show images of Biden’s “unwanted touching” at past White House events.

Politifact, however, conceded that Biden has been credibly accused by “some adult women of unwanted touching,” and that a former Senate staffer, Tara Reade, has accused him of sexual assault.

Biden and the University of Delaware are blocking any attempts to access Biden’s Senate records housed at his home state flagship university.

The records purportedly contain evidence of Reade’s sexual victimization—a fact that the esteemed fact-checking website failed to mention.

An angry crowd of protesters in Seattle began marching into residential neighborhoods this week, demanding that the white people inside their homes give up their houses and belongings to black Americans.

The group of about 50 protesters walked around in a quiet neighborhood on Wednesday and began berating locals who lived there, chanting “Black lives matter” and “We want it all,” according to video footage.

During one exchange, a man in the crowd began screaming at a nearby house, accusing the residents of “kicking out” black Americans.

“Do you know that before your white ass came here, this was all black people?” the man said.

“Do you know people like you came in here and basically bought all the land from the black people for less than what it was worth, kicked them out so you could live here,” he added. “Do you know that?”

Another woman in the crowd then told residents to “open their wallet” as the man continued to yell at the unidentified neighbors nearby.

“So how do you plan to fix it?” the man continued. “As a gentrifier, because you are part of that problem.”

A woman with a megaphone then urged the residents to “give up” their homes.

“Give black people back their homes!” she yelled.

“You’re sitting there comfortably—comfortable as f—k as if they didn’t help gentrify this neighborhood,” she said. “I used to live in this neighborhood, and my family was pushed out, and you’re sitting up there having a good time with your other white friends!”

As they marched, other Black Lives Matter demonstrators and Antifa members told white people they passed by to “get the f—k out” while others called for reparations.

“Give us our s—t back!” one man yelled.

And in another video, protesters harassed a business owner who allegedly called the cops to report that one of his windows had been shattered.

“You’re being racist, you’re being racist,” a protester told the unidentified business owner. “Check your privilege, check your privilege.”

The protester continued to yell profanities at the business owner, telling him to “go back to his gentrification business.”

Chicago Mayor Tries to Reassure Public after Recent Race Riots

(Headline USA) Chicago officials under pressure to reassure residents after hundreds of Black Lives Matter rioters vandalized and stole from downtown businesses pledged Friday to respond forcefully to any similar attempts during the weekend.

Flanked by local and federal officials at a press conference near the city’s lakefront, Mayor Lori Lightfoot outlined the strategy that includes a Chicago Police team to monitor social media around the clock for efforts to organize looting or other crime.

Police blamed some of the chaos Sunday night and early Monday on people who used social media to organize car caravans, bringing dozens together to ransack stores and other businesses downtown.

Monitoring public social media posts for similar plans this weekend will let police and other city agencies quickly respond before commercial areas become targets, Lightfoot said.

The city’s plan also includes using large trucks and concrete barriers if needed to limit access to commercial areas, along with enlisting help from state troopers for traffic control.

Police Superintendent David Brown said citywide teams will be deployed as needed to back up local police patrols.

“We’ve heard loud and clear from people: They’re nervous, they’re scared, they’re worried, they’re thinking about whether or not their life can continue as they expect it to in this great city of Chicago,” Lightfoot said.

“So we’ve got to restore confidence, by making sure that the measures that we take are proactive, that we are aggressive, and that when someone dares challenge our resolve that we hold them responsible,” she added.

A police task force formed this week is separately working with the local FBI office to identify suspects from the past week.

Brown also told reporters Thursday that he’s prepared to disable, tow or box in cars used by people joining in organized theft or vandalism.

“Chicago does not, I repeat, does not belong to looters and thieves,” Brown said.

The abrupt targeting of businesses downtown followed police firing at a Black man on the South Side on Sunday.

Latrell Allen, 20, appeared in court Tuesday on charges of attempted murder and was ordered held on a $1 million bond.

Police said he fired at officers before they returned fire and wounded him.

Authorities have said they found a gun at the scene, but they acknowledge that the officers who shot him were not wearing cameras.

Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and one of President Donald Trump’s top coronavirus advisers, said there is “no reason” Americans shouldn’t be able to go to the polls and vote in-person this November as long as they follow social-distancing guidelines.

“I think if carefully done, according to the guidelines, there’s no reason that I can see why that not be the case,” Fauci told ABC News this week.

“If you go and wear a mask, if you observe the physical distancing, and don’t have a crowded situation, there’s no reason why shouldn’t be able to do that,” he said.

Individuals who are “compromised physically or otherwise” should forgo voting in person if need be, Fauci added, but otherwise “there’s no reason why we should be able to vote in person,” he reiterated.

Democrats, however, have been using the coronavirus pandemic as an excuse to push mail-in voting.

Several Democratic-controlled states have expanded the vote-by-mail system over the past few months, arguing that forcing Americans to head to the polls would endanger their health.

But a recent study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention proves this fear is unfounded.

The CDC evaluated COVID-19 cases in Wisconsin’s urban areas for several weeks after the state held its primary election in April.

They discovered that only 14 people out of the nearly 19,000 who voted ended up testing positive for the virus between April 9 and April 21. That means there was no significant spread, even though residents voted in person.

Trump has accused Democrats of trying to stack the election against him through the mail-in system, which is ripe for voter fraud and abuse, according to multiple studies.

He even suggested this week that he would cut funding to the United States Postal Service if Democrats continue to push voting by mail.

“They want three and a half billion dollars for something that’ll turn out to be fraudulent, that’s election money basically,” Trump said, according to CNN.

He noted that congressional Democrats also had sought $25 billion to bolster the failing post office, which has been supplanted largely by private companies like Amazon that deliver their own packages with more efficiency.

Now they need that money in order to make the Post Office work so it can take all of these millions and millions of ballots,” Trump continued. “But if they don’t get those two items that means you can’t have universal mail-in voting because they’re not equipped to have it.”

Liberal News Site Vox Credits Trump w/ ‘Big Win’ for Israel-Arab Peace Agreement

Vox is a left-wing news website that purports to offer highbrow “explainer” articles for policy wonks and people concerned with fact-driven journalism.

It’s also viciously anti-Trump, and the site’s former Washington Post “Wonkblog” founder Ezra Klein regularly bashes the president on MSNBC and Twitter.

But even Vox was compelled to credit President Donald Trump with his latest “big win.”

On Friday morning, the site published an article praising Trump for brokering an historic peace deal between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, both longtime enemies.

“A lot of details remain to be worked out, but this is still a really big agreement,” the sub-headline reads. The opening paragraph admits that “it may not have happened without the input of President Donald Trump’s administration.”

Israel and the UAE agreed to normalize relations and develop ties in numerous areas including investment, security, tourism, technology, and energy.

The formerly hostile governments also agreed to establish formal embassies in each other’s countries.

The Israeli-Palestinian conflict has been the white-hot issue that has long put the Jewish state at odds with the Muslim dominated Middle East region.

The new joint agreement, however, includes an Israeli stipulation to “suspend declaring sovereignty over” parts of the Palestinian West Bank.

Israeli had previously announced its intention to annex the disputed territory.

In exchange, Arab leaders in Abu Dhabi, UAE committed to becoming the third Middle Eastern country to declare friendly relations with the Israeli government.

“Two long-estranged nations have agreed to be openly friendly with each other, and the US helped — giving Trump one of his biggest foreign policy victories as the election draws near,” Vox concluded.

Trump also hinted in the Oval Office that more “things are happening,” while Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu tweeted in Hebrew that Thursday is “A historic day.”

Ga.’s Stone Mountain Denies Far-Right Group’s Rally in Response to Black Militia

(Headline USA) Suburban Atlanta‘s Stone Mountain Park, home of a giant sculpture of Confederate leaders, says it will close its gates Saturday in the face of a planned right-wing rally.

The event has sparked fears of violence, especially before an all-black militia said earlier this week that it would cancel plans to show up.

The black militia group had previously been granted unfettered access to the state park to exercise its First- and Second-Amendment rights at a July 4 demonstration.

Other groups were still planning to counter-protest.

Last year, the park also closed down rather than allow a rally organized by white supremacists to go forward.

The organizers were led by an Arkansas group called Confederate States III%, which applied for a permit.

But Stone Mountain Memorial Association spokesperson John Bankhead said the park denied the permit on Aug. 4. The denial cited a violent clash between groups in April 2016. Bankhead said the park has not received any other permit applications.

He said police would be present to keep demonstrators away.

Bankhead said the park will reopen Sunday.

Stone Mountain City Manager ChaQuias Miller–Thornton told The Atlanta Journal–Constitution that the city also received a permit request for a rally but that too was denied because it was received too close to the requested date.

The city last week advised residents to stay home and businesses to close down.

Supporters had continued to claim this week on social media that they have valid permits.

The predominantly black demonstrators on July 4 spoke out against the huge sculpture depicting Gen. Robert E. Lee, Confederate President Jefferson Davis and Gen. Thomas J. “Stonewall” Jackson.

Carved into a granite mountain, the bas-relief sculpture is the largest Confederate monument ever crafted.

The 100 to 200 protesters, many of whom carried large rifles, were peaceful.

Although the park has historically been a gathering spot for white supremacists, the adjoining city of Stone Mountain has a majority-black population today.

The park at Stone Mountain markets itself as a family theme park rather than a shrine to the “Lost Cause” mythology that romanticizes the Confederacy as chivalrous defenders of states’ rights.

It’s a popular recreation spot for many families on the east side of Atlanta, with hiking trails, a golf course, boat rentals and other attractions.

The park has long been known for its laser light shows, but those have been canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

RINO Romney Slams GOP Colleagues for Voicing Mail-In Ballot Concerns

(Headline USA) Sen. Mitt Romney said Friday that politicians attacking the vote by mail system are threatening global democracy but stopped short of criticizing President Donald Trump, who has been openly against an expected surge of mail-in ballots.

The United States must stand as an example to more fragile democratic nations to show that elections can be held in a free and fair manner, Romney said.

He urged the federal government to make every effort to ensure that people are able to vote in the general election this November.

“That’s more important even than the outcome of the vote,” he said at a virtual event hosted by the conservative Utah-based Sutherland Institute.

“We have got to preserve the principle of democracy or the trend we’re on is going to continue to get worse,” he continued.

Evidence has suggested that increased mail-in voting because of the coronavirus pandemic could result in fraud.

Primaries in states including battleground Wisconsin showed ample cases of ballots failing to be delivered by the post office.

In other cases, such as the toss-up Nevada, attempts to mail ballots to all registered voters resulted in thousands being delivered to the wrong address.

Trump has threatened to cut off funding to the failing U.S. Postal Service if Democrats in blue states continue to push the radical measures.

But in a press conference Thursday he reiterated that he does not oppose absentee voting for vulnerable populations who go through the proper screening procedures, only those that intend to send ballots without discretion in states that also have actively fought to avoid updating their voter rolls.

Romney, the only Republican in either chamber of Congress to support Trump’s impeachment, claimed he has seen no evidence that voting by mail has led to fraud.

In fact, he added, this voting method may be even more secure than electronic voting because it’s less likely to invite hacking interference by foreign entities.

He said he would support providing additional funds to states to strengthen their voting systems.

The Republican lawmaker also discussed what he called the threat of an emerging Chinese economy and military that he says has been able to expand with virtually no pushback.

Romney said the U.S. will need to work together with other free nations to “stop China’s predation.”

He applauded the Trump administration for being tough on China. But Romney said that sticking to a nationalist “America First” approach will further alienate the U.S. from its allies and push them to support China’s interests instead.

“We’re pulling out of the world,” Romney said. “As America retreats and China pushes forward, why the nations of the world will line up behind China.”

Judge Tosses Lawsuit from Ariz. Woman Denied ‘Right to Travel’ to New York

(Headline USA) A federal judge threw out a lawsuit by an Arizona woman who claimed New York’s 14-day quarantine requirement for travelers from hotspot coronavirus states infringed on her “fundamental right to travel.”

U.S. District Court Judge David Hurd on Tuesday became at least the second federal judge to rule against challenges to the quarantines first ordered by Gov. Andrew Cuomo in June.

The advisory currently covers travelers from 31 states, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.

Cynthia Page filed the suit last month, claiming it unfairly stopped her from visiting Brooklyn and helping friends pack up belongings in a house they were preparing to sell.

Page asserted that Cuomo’s executive order and the quarantine rules made the trip impossible, which “was and continues to be very upsetting,” according to court papers.

In dismissing the lawsuit, Hurd wrote that people from restricted states remain free to enter New York.

“And whether resident or non-resident, any traveler who completes the quarantine remains completely free to travel freely within the State itself,” Hurd wrote.

Page informed the court Tuesday she would appeal.

Page’s lawyer, David Yerushalmi, told The New York Post he thought the judge’s decision “was thoughtful but wrong.”

“Judge Hurd has responded out of the fear of the pandemic but has ignored basic constitutional law,” he said.
