Georgia Accuses Biden’s USAID of Trying to Overthrow Government

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) Georgia’s government has accused the Biden administration of plotting a coup against it, alleging that Samantha Power’s U.S. Agency for International Development is holding workshops in the country to train people in fomenting violence and civil unrest.

According to the Georgian government, Serbian revolution experts were brought into the country by a USAID-sponsored group to “coach civilian activists and representatives of non-profit groups—one large group in particular—who will play a crucial role in an attempt to bring down the government by force.”

“This is a dark day in the history of American assistance to Georgia,” Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili reportedly said on Monday. “It seems the American people’s money is being used to foment revolution, to train people in staging unrest and acts of violence.”

Georgia’s allegations follow the Biden administration reportedly sanctioning the country’s former prosecutor general over his role in promoting the Kremlin’s interests and collaborating with Russian security services.

The Biden administration and the USAID have both denied Georgia’s claims.

However, there is historical precedent for the allegations.

In 2003, the Bush administration used the USAID—often described as a CIA proxy—to foment a coup against the Georgian government. According to antiwar.com editorial director Scott Horton, the coup was assisted by a non-profit organization called the Liberty Institute, which at the time was funded by the USAID and George Soros.

The Liberty Institute, in turn, trained more than 1,000 protestors and created a student group to oppose the government. The result was what’s now referred to as the Rose Revolution.

Moreover, the current head of USAID, Samantha Power, was involved in numerous regime-change efforts—most notoriously, in Libya.

As noted by antiwar.com’s Dave DeCamp, Power pushed for the coup against Libyan ruler Moammar Gaddafi when she was on Barrack Obama’s National Security Council.

Since the overthrow of Gaddafi, Libya is now a failed state with open slave markets.

“For her efforts to convince Obama to destroy Libya, Power was promoted to UN ambassador, where she served from 2013 to 2017,” DeCamp said in a 2021 article about Power’s appointment to head Biden’s USAID.

“During that time, she pushed for more intervention in Syria and backed the Saudis at the UN while they bombed and starved civilians in Yemen.”

Most recently, Power was accused in February of fomenting unrest in Hungary, where Viktor Orban crushed his globalist opponents in the nation’s 2022 elections.

Biden Transfers $9B More in Student-Loan Debt from Deadbeat Borrowers to Taxpayers

The White House announced Wednesday another round of legally dubious student-loan amnesty as those who avoided paying their loans throughout the pandemic find themselves once again obligated to resume the monthly payments.

The disclosure comes months after the U.S. Supreme Court blocked a broader effort by President Joe Biden to transfer hundreds of billions of dollars in student-loan debts onto the general taxpaying public, many of whom already paid their off or never took out loans in the first place.

Despite the failure of that effort, which the court ruled unconstitutional, saying it would require an act of Congress and that the executive branch alone lacked the authority, the Democrat regime has vowed to press forward.

Biden said that an additional 125,000 Americans were approved for $9 billion in debt relief through fixes made to income-driven repayment and Public Service Loan Forgiveness, and by cancelling debt for borrowers with total and permanent disabilities.

The administration’s plan provides $5.2 billion in additional debt relief for 53,000 borrowers under Public Service Loan Forgiveness programs; almost $2.8 billion in new debt relief for nearly 51,000 borrowers through fixes to income-driven repayment and $1.2 billion for nearly 22,000 borrowers who have a total or permanent disability who have been identified and approved for discharge through a data match with the Social Security Administration, according to the White House.

In July, the Department of Education announced that $39 billion in federal student loan debt for about 800,000 borrowers would be discharged.

In June, the U.S. Supreme Court struck down Biden’s plan to cancel hundreds of billions of dollars in debt through the HEROES Act. That plan would have forgiven $10,000 per qualifying borrower and up to $20,000 for Pell Grant recipients.

In Biden v. Nebraska, the Supreme Court ruled the administration’s plan to cancel $10,000 in loan debt for people making up to $125,000 or married couples making up to $250,000 exceeded the scope of the 2003 HEROES Act.

Chief Justice John Roberts wrote for the majority in the 6-3 ruling that the 20-year-old federal law allows “modest adjustments” in loan forgiveness programs but not sweeping changes that “transform them.”

‘The Secretary’s comprehensive debt cancellation plan cannot fairly be called a waiver—it not only nullifies existing provisions, but augments and expands them dramatically,’ he wrote.

Socialists, Centrists Unite to Exterminate France’s Latest Unwanted Visitors

(Headline USA) They creep, they crawl, they feast on your blood as you sleep. They may travel in your clothes or backpacks to find another person worth dining on—on the subway, or at the cinema.

Bedbugs go where you go, and they have become a nightmare haunting France for weeks.

The government has been forced to step in to calm an increasingly anxious nation that will host the Olympic Games in just over nine months—a prime venue for infestations of the crowd-loving insects.

Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne called a meeting of ministers for Friday to tackle the bedbug crisis. The country’s transport minister, Clement Beaune, met this week with transportation companies to draw up a plan for monitoring and disinfecting—and to try to ease what some have called a national psychosis inflamed by the media.

“There is no resurgence of cases,” Beaune said, telling reporters that 37 cases reported in the bus and Metro system and a dozen others on trains proved unfounded—as did viral videos on social media of tiny creatures supposedly burrowing in the seat of a fast train.

Still, bedbugs have plagued France and other countries for decades. The insects the size of an apple seed that neither jump nor fly get around as easily as people travel from city to city and nation to nation, and they have become increasingly resistant to insecticides.

If that’s not enough to make you itchy: Bedbugs can stay alive for a year without a meal.

Without any blood, “they can slow their metabolism and just wait for us,” said Jean-Michel Berenger, an entomologist who raises bedbugs in his lab in the infectious diseases section of the Mediterranee University Hospital in Marseille.

The carbon dioxide that all humans give off “will reactivate them … and they’ll come back to bite you.”

For now, Berenger said, this much is certain: “Bedbugs have infested the media.”

Yet bad dreams are most often fed by a touch of reality.

More than one household in 10 in France was infested with bedbugs between 2017 and 2022, according to a report by the National Agency for Health and Food Safety. The agency relied on a poll by Ipsos to query people on a topic that many prefer to avoid discussing because they fear going public with a bedbug problem will stigmatize them.

But silence is a mistake, experts say. No social category is immune to finding bedbugs in their clothing, blankets or mattresses.

“It’s not at all a hygiene problem. The only thing that interests [bedbugs] is your blood,” said Berenger, the entomologist. “Whether you live in a dump or a palace, it’s the same thing to them.”

Business is booming for companies that eradicate the little brown insects, a process that often starts with detection by dogs trained to sniff out the special odor that bedbugs give off.

If an infestation is confirmed, technicians move in to zap the area with super hot steam. Heat and cold are enemies of bedbugs. One French government recommendation for victims is to put well-wrapped clothes in the freezer.

Kevin Le Mestre, director of Lutte Antinuisible, said his company is getting “dozens and dozens” of calls. In the past, he said, people often didn’t react, even to bites.

“Now, as soon as they spot a bite, they don’t ask themselves whether it really comes from bedbugs or not. They call us straight away,” said a pest control technician for the company, Lucas Pradalier, as he disinfected a Paris apartment. A sniffer dog detected bedbugs in a baseboard and between floorboards.

The French public began moving into panic mode about a month ago after reports of bedbugs at a Paris movie theater. Videos began popping up on social networks, showing little insects on trains and buses.

Now, both socialists and centrists of President Emmanuel Macron’s party want to propose bills to fight bedbugs. Far-left lawmaker Mathilde Panot recently brought a vial of bedbugs to the Parliament to chastise the government for, in her view, letting the creatures run rampant.

Bedbugs, an age-old curse on humans, seemingly disappeared with treatment by harsh, now-banned insecticides. They made a reappearance in the 1950s, especially in densely populated cities like New York. And they travel the world thanks to commerce and tourism.

That adds up to a bedbug challenge for the Paris Olympics starting in July.

“All human population movements are profitable for bedbugs because they go with us, to hotels, in transport,” said Berenger.

Beaune, the transport minister, is hopeful that steps can be taken to ease the public’s fear. But, he conceded, “It’s hell, these bedbugs.”

Rudy Giuliani Sues Joe Biden for Calling Him a ‘Russian Pawn’

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) The embattled Rudy Giuliani has sued President Joe Biden for defamation, claiming that Biden’s remarks during an October 2020 presidential debate damaged the former New York City mayor’s reputation and cost him career opportunities.

Biden’s allegedly defamatory remarks came when he told Donald Trump at the Oct. 22, 2020 national debate: “Rudy Giuliani, he is being used as a Russian pawn. He is being fed information that is Russian, that is not true.”

About 48 minutes later, Giuliani said Biden defamed him again when the candidate said, “There are 50 former national intelligence folks who said that what he is accusing me of is a Russian plant … Nobody believes it except [Trump] and his good friend, Rudy Giuliani.”

According to Giuliani, Biden’s allegations “quickly became viral” and “massively magnified” the harm to his reputation.

Giuliani stressed that he is not a Russian asset, nor was he fed Russian disinformation during the 2020 campaign.

“The Hunter Biden laptop contained no Russian information,” he said, “but rather contained the accurate, depraved, and revealing entries of someone engaged in influence peddling but also in throes of a drug addiction, and thereby revealing conduct and actions that at the very least would have cost Defendant Biden the 2020 presidential election if he had not lied about them and defamed the Plaintiff in the process of doing so.”

“America’s Mayor” may have an uphill battle to successfully sue for defamation, as his reputation has plummeted in recent years due to events that have little to do with Biden’s comments.

Along with his most obvious legal challenge—his criminal charge in Georgia over the election interference allegations—a Washington DC Board on Professional Responsibility recommended that he be disbarred in July.

He also faces his own lawsuit from Hunter Biden, who sued him over his infamous laptop, saying that Giuliani hacked and manipulated data on an external hard drive in a “total annihilation” of Biden’s “digital privacy.” That Biden lawsuit came after Giuliani already had a default judgment issued against him in yet another defamation case, this one involving two Georgia election workers.

And even if Giuliani didn’t have any of those other legal woes, his lawsuit against Joe Biden faces another barrier: There is an FBI whistleblower who claims that he was, in fact, co-opted by Russians.

The whistleblower, special agent Jonathan Buma, filed a statement with the Senate Judiciary Committee in July, alleging that Giuliani’s associate, Russian-Ukrainian oligarch Pavlo Fuks, was a Russian intelligence asset.

Buma said that one of his informants told him that Fuks had paid Giuliani $300,000 to serve as his U.S. lobbyist. But Buma’s bosses at the FBI prevented him from pursuing the matter, he said.

“By 2020, information collected by me through my [informants], as well as other agents and analysts in the FBI, led to a determination … that Fuks was a co-opted asset of [Russian intelligence],” Buma said in his whistleblower statement.

“However, in 2020 and 2021, it became increasingly apparent to me that my reporting on Fuks and his ties to Giuliani was negatively received by my superiors, who were eager for the flow of information about Fuks and his relationship to Giuliani to stop.”

Meanwhile, Giuliani has also been accused of being an alcoholic by the New York Times.

Giuliani denied that accusation Wednesday, the same day he filed his lawsuit against Biden.

Biden Admin Waives 26 Federal Laws to Allow Border-Wall Construction in Texas

(Headline USA) The Biden administration announced it waived 26 federal laws in South Texas to allow border wall construction on Wednesday, marking the administration’s first use of a sweeping executive power employed often during the Trump presidency.

The Department of Homeland Security posted the announcement on the U.S. Federal Registry with few details outlining the construction in Starr County, Texas, which is part of a busy Border Patrol sector seeing “high illegal entry.”

According to government data, about 245,000 illegal entries have been recorded so far this fiscal year in the Rio Grande Valley Sector which contains 21 counties.

“There is presently an acute and immediate need to construct physical barriers and roads in the vicinity of the border of the United States in order to prevent unlawful entries into the United States in the project areas,” DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas stated in the notice.

The administration’s callous disregard of many other federal laws in allowing the open flow of illegal immigrants for more than two years has led to a crisis of proportions unseen before in the nation as Biden Democrats seek to drastically reshape America’s culture and demography to make it more favorable for their radical agenda.

However, even governors of far-left blue states like Illinois and New York have signaled recently to the White House that they have had enough and said in no uncertain terms that it was time to close the border. That appears to have been the catalyst for action even as the appeals from actual border states with Republican leaders have fallen on deaf ears.

The Clean Air Act, Safe Drinking Water Act and Endangered Species Act were some of the federal laws that leftists had been using heretofore to block the state of Texas from putting up its own border wall.

Those have now been waived by DHS to make way for construction that will use funds from a congressional appropriation in 2019 for border wall construction. The waivers avoid time-consuming reviews and lawsuits challenging violation of environmental laws.

Starr County’s hilly ranchlands, sitting between Zapata and McAllen, Texas, is home to about 65,000 residents sparsely populating about 1,200 square miles that form part of the Lower Rio Grande Valley National Wildlife Refuge.

Although no maps were provided in the announcement, CBP announced the project in June and began gathering public comments in August when it shared a map of the additional construction that can add up to 20 miles to the existing border barrier system in the area. Starr County Judge Eloy Vera said it will start south of the Falcon Dam and go past Salineño, Texas.

“The other concern that we have is that area is highly erosive. There’s a lot of arroyos,” Eloy Vera, the county judge said, pointing out the creeks cutting through the ranchland and leading into the river.

Concern is shared with environmental advocates who say structures will run through public lands, habitats of endangered plants and species like the Ocelot, a spotted wild cat.

“A plan to build a wall through will bulldoze an impermeable barrier straight through the heart of that habitat. It will stop wildlife migrations dead in their tracks. It will destroy a huge amount of wildlife refuge land. And it’s a horrific step backwards for the borderlands,” Laiken Jordahl, a southwest conservation advocate for the Center for Biological Diversity, said Wednesday afternoon.

During the Trump administration, about 450 miles of barriers were built along the southwest border between 2017 and January 2021. Texas Governor Greg Abbott renewed those efforts after the Biden administration halted them at the start of his presidency.

The DHS decision on Wednesday contrasts the Biden administration’s posturing when a proclamation to end the construction on Jan. 20, 2021, stated, “building a massive wall that spans the entire southern border is not a serious policy solution.”

In a statement Wednesday, CBP said the project is consistent with that 2021 proclamation.

“Congress appropriated fiscal year 2019 funds for the construction of border barrier in the Rio Grande Valley, and DHS is required to use those funds for their appropriated purpose,” the statement said. “CBP remains committed to protecting the nation’s cultural and natural resources and will implement sound environmental practices as part of the project covered by this waiver.”

The announcement prompted political debate by the Democratic administration facing an increase of migrants entering through the southern border in recent months, including thousands who entered the U.S. through Eagle Pass at the end of September.

“A border wall is a 14th century solution to a 21st century problem. It will not bolster border security in Starr County,” U.S. Representative Henry Cuellar said in a statement. “I continue to stand against the wasteful spending of taxpayer dollars on an ineffective border wall.”

Political proponents of the border wall said the waivers should be used as a launching pad for a shift in policy.

“After years of denying that a border wall and other physical barriers are effective, the DHS announcement represents a sea change in the administration’s thinking: A secure wall is an effective tool for maintaining control of our borders,” Dan Stein, president of the Federation for American Immigration Reform, said in a statement.

“Having made that concession, the administration needs to immediately begin construction of wall across the border to prevent the illegal traffic from simply moving to other areas of the border,” he added.

DeSantis Supporter Chip Roy Tells ‘MAGA F***ers’ to ‘Kiss’ His ‘A**’

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) Congressman Chip Roy, R–Texas, had a meltdown at the “MAGA camp” after both Democrats and Republicans — led by Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla. — ousted Kevin McCarthy as Speaker of the House of Representatives.

During his meltdown, Roy also compared himself to a soldier who landed in Normandy, France, and urged Gov. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla. — whom he supports as a 2024 presidential candidate — to “restore order.”

“Some of our brothers and sisters, particularly in the, uh, you know, MAGA camp, I think, particularly enjoy the circular firing squad,” he said of McCarthy’s removal.

McCarthy was removed because he failed to honor his commitments to American conservatives when it comes to government spending, border security, the war between Russia and Ukraine and impeaching Joe Biden.

“You want to come at me and call me a RINO? You can kiss my a**!” he said during the Steve Deace’s show.

Just like Roy, Deace is also a very strong DeSantis supporter, who’s always been opposing Donald Trump.

In 2016, he even said that he “doesn’t really care” whether Trump or Hillary Clinton wins the election.

In addition to that, in the clip with Roy, Deace admitted to being “paid to care” about politics.

“I have laid it all on the line. I’ve not seen my family for two days in the last 30 days. You go around talking your big game and thumping your chests on Twitter? Yeah, come to my office and come have a debate, mother!” Roy said.

He then proceeded to compare himself to soldiers who were risking their lives to stop the literal Nazis.

“I’m not gonna give up. I’m not gonna go to a nunnery because… there are people who are buried over in Normandy who deserve us to stand up for what they fought for… all of you f***ers out there who are out there saying what you’re saying out on social media, you stick it!” Roy said.

After that, he promoted DeSantis as a potential president by saying he should restore order in the country.

“What happened to a country where we can’t even have order? [DeSantis] should be talking about [him] being the Governor who can restore order as President of the United States,” he said.

Trump supporters, like editor-in-chief of the National Pulse Raheem Kassam, responded to Roy’s meltdown.

“Chip Roy’s MAGA meltdown is a thing of beauty. But not for the reason he or his rhinophyma-having buddy think,” Kassam said.

Menendez Suspected of Covering Up Wife’s Killing of Man in Car Crash

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Nadine Menendez, the wife of Sen. Bob Menendez, D-N.J., is facing renewed scrutiny after she killed a man after a car accident.

As reported by the New York Times, the incident has resurfaced with disturbing questions on whether Sen. Menendez interfered in the brief investigation into the death of 49-year-old Richard Koop.

The unsettling events took place in December 2018 when Ms. Menendez struck and killed Koop while driving her black Mercedes-Benz in New Jersey. Ms. Menendez’s driving threw Koop’s body to the curb.

She was later released with no summons after police officers reportedly found her “not at fault” for the death, leaving the mourning family baffled, the Times reported.

“The family really has had serious concerns over what we felt was a very sparse, one-sided investigation,” Rosemarie Koop-Angelicola told the Times. “Definitely a lack of legal enthusiasm to take this case, definite lack of media coverage, and a lack of communication by the authorities of Bergen County. We felt that the whole thing was very silently swept under the rug.”

According to the Times, one witness at the scene of the accident noted that officers appeared to be familiar with Ms. Menendez. A retired officer even arrived at the scene as “a favor” to a friend, whose wife knew the now-indicted woman.

These disturbing questions surrounding the car accident come at a time when the Menendez couple is already facing a federal indictment for bribery and political corruption.

In a politically damning 39-page indictment, federal prosecutors allege that Menendez was willing to suppress a criminal investigation involving a New Jersey businessman in exchange for a $60,000 Mercedes.

In September 2023, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York announced three charges against the Menendez couple, alleging that the powerful couple received several hundred thousands of dollars in bribes from three New Jersey businesses men.

“As the grand jury charged, between 2018 and 2022, Senator Menendez and his wife engaged in a corrupt relationship with Wael Hana, Jose Uribe, and Fred Daibes – three New Jersey businessmen who collectively paid hundreds of thousands of dollars of bribes, including cash, gold, a Mercedes Benz, and other things of value – in exchange for Senator Menendez agreeing to use his power and influence to protect and enrich those businessmen and to benefit the Government of Egypt,” U.S. Attorney Damian Williams said.

Menendez has since faced bipartisan calls for his immediate resignation.

U.S. Gov. Pays Military Contractors to Transport, Hold Trafficked Kids

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) It was revealed that U.S. government contractors helped to traffic thousands of foreign children into the country every month, with 85,000 of these kids missing.

The children were being kidnapped from Central and South America, the Florida Standard reported. The kids were lured to the United States by advertisements that promised them a better life in America. In other cases, their own families were selling them to human traffickers, or the kids were kidnapped off the streets.

Children were being funneled into the U.S. interior by human trafficking rings, a 2016 congressional report said.

“The United States is a source, transit and destination country for men, women, transgender individuals and children – both U.S. citizens and foreign nationals – subjected to sex trafficking and forced labor,” according to the report.

The Department of Homeland Security’s [DHS] Office of Inspector General Joseph V. Cuffari admitted last month that “DHS may unknowingly release migrants, including children, to potentially unsafe conditions or smuggling operations.”

In March, Florida’s Statewide Grand Jury released a report that found the Office of Refugee Resettlement [ORR] was “facilitating the forced migration, sale and abuse of foreign children,” even though the ORR was created in 1980 under the Department of Health and Human Services to support refugees in the U.S., including victims of human trafficking and unaccompanied alien children, according to the Florida Standard.

“The process exposes children to horrifying health conditions, constant criminal threat, labor and sex trafficking,” the Grand Jury’s report said.

It was also discovered by Muckraker that the cartels tagged children with wristbands to indicate that they were clear to enter the U.S. The children were then passed off to single adults so that they would be able to enter the country disguised as a family.

Before a sponsor — many of whom happened to be illegal immigrants themselves — chooses a child, the kids were being held in top-secret compounds, which are highly secure and resemble prisons or concentration camps with double fencing and guard towers, as it was shown on the photos of these compounds by Muckraker.

The children were escorted by government contractors and NGOs from holding facilities to the sponsor in the United States, as soon as the sponsor was identified by the ORR.

It was revealed that these contractors were Southwest Key and MVM, a private security contractor founded by three former Secret Service agents. The National Security Agency and CIA also contracted MVM to provide armed security in Iraq.

In 2021, MVM was granted $369.5 million to provide necessary staffing and resources to arrange travel and escort for unaccompanied children in ORR custody.

Viral ‘B**ty Hole’ Rapper Says Hood Loves Trump: ‘We Need Him Back’

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Viral hip-hop sensation Sexxy Red has voiced her support for former President Donald Trump and called for his return to the White House during an interview with comedian and podcast host Theo Von.

In the interview, Red attributed her Trump support to his political agenda for black Americans.  “I like Trump! Yeah, they support him in the hood,” she said. “Cause at first, I don’t think people was fuckin’ with him. Like, they thought he was racist, saying little shit, and, you know, against women. But once he start getting black people out of jail and giving people their free money…oh baby we love Trump. We need him back in office.”

Red first gained widespread recognition earlier this year with her hit song Pound Town. The song, which include the widely quoted “My coochie pink, my booty-hole brown,” even received a remix from the popular rapper Nicki Minaj. She has headlined popular music festivals and has performed in numerous hip-hop awards.

When Von mentioned the impact of stimulus checks, Red enthusiastically agreed, “We need him back. Because, baby them checks. Ooh, yes them stimulus checks.” She also added, “Trump we miss you.”

Her support for Trump continued as she highlighted Trump’s bold personality.

“I love Trump, though. He funny to me. Like, I used to watch his interviews. Well, not interviews, him talking to people. He used to be calling people ‘fat.’ He’s just bold. He funny. Like, we need people like him,” she continued.

Red’s endorsement of Trump comes at a time when President Joe Biden is facing scrutiny amid an impeachment inquiry scandal involving allegations of bribery and political corruption.

Biden, who is running for re-election and could potentially face Trump in the 2024 election, has seen his support among black voters decline significantly. Notably, Biden came under scrutiny when he questioned black support for Trump, claiming, “If you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black.”

Biden received 70% of the black and Hispanic vote during the last election. However, a recent New York Times poll, suggests that Biden’s support among non-white voters has dropped to an average of 47%. Meanwhile, Trump has managed to win over 5% of former Biden voters.

Just on Oct. 1, Trump touted the increasing support from minority voters during a rally in Iowa. “By the way, a poll just came out. We’re leading with women with suburban women, with men, with black, with white, with Asian [and] with Hispanic,” he said. “We’re leading with minority groups. We’re leading with that have never nobody’s ever even come close and In particular, the Hispanics, it’s unbelievable.

Zelenskyy ‘Freaking Out’ After McCarthy Expelled as Speaker: Report

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Ukrainian officials find themselves in utter dismay after the expulsion of their ally, Rep. Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., from his role as House speaker on Tuesday.

According to Politico, the Ukrainian government, heavily reliant on McCarthy as a financial supplier, is now grappling with the immediate repercussions of his political downfall, with one Ukrainian lawmaker accusing House Republicans of holding their aid hostage.

“We are freaking out. For us it is a disaster,” said Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze, a Ukrainian MP and the chair of the committee overseeing Ukraine’s integration into the European Union. “We are interested in getting things sorted out so American democracy can function, and so we can restore the bipartisan consensus on supporting their own national interest by supporting Ukraine.”

Ukrainian lawmaker Yaroslav Zheleznyak went a step further with an unhinged response. “There is nothing good, but, objectively, we have simply become hostages of their internal politics.

McCarthy’s exit came at a bad time for the eastern European country, which found itself mired in a disturbing corruption scandal implicating high-ranking military officials. Merely two months ago, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy fired his top defense chief, Olesksii Reznikov, days before he was set to meet with Pentagon officials.

“Well, that’s a setup,” one worried lawmaker claimed, while another added, “Honestly, we are watching for now.”

In a desperate statement to deescalate tensions, the Ukrainian government published a statement on the ongoing battle within the House GOP.

“Until a new speaker is elected, the House cannot vote on laws, but all other work, including in committees, continues,” said Oksana Markarova, the Ukrainian ambassador to the United States.

McCarthy’s exit came after he refused to remove $300 million of U.S. taxpayer aid to Ukraine from a House GOP spending budget, which also included money for the border wall.

Instead, McCarthy told staunch conservative Republicans they must vote for the bill before the aid could be removed.

Ultimately, the bill failed, leading McCarthy to settle with a clean spending bill endorsed by both President Joe Biden and the Democratic-led Senate.

This concession delivered the final blow, with Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., successfully submitting a motion to vacate.
